Debut Transmission: DotSTRIPE – The Place

concept001

We love a good concept here at Data Transmission. From futuristic looking cars to the latest work from Quentin Tarantino, we love looking at tomorrow’s ideas today. Thus, it’s our great pleasure to introduce you to CONCEPT, the recently christened brainchild of well known artist agency, My Favourite Freaks.

A monthly release series, CONCEPT started life at the tail end of last year, introducing “freaky club boyz and party girlz” to their dance floor orientated stylings with a number of vinyl releases. For the project’s third record, CONCEPT 03 serves up four more portions of on trend grooves with Matchy & BottRuben Mandolini, Willers Brothers and dotSTRIPE at the helm.

Now, we’re sure we don’t need to tell you that we’re sure you’ll be hearing plenty of all of the cuts on offer upon their release – the reputation of the record’s illustrious predecessors all but guaranteeing success – but for us, one track stand tall in even this rarified company. Yes, we just can’t get enough of DotSTRIPE’s closing cut, The Place with the wide atmospheres of his synthesiser pads underpinning his careful selected vocal lines to devastating effect.  Check it out for yourself below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
