Forum has been a cornerstone of the city’s music scene for six decades. Relaunched in 2021 after major renovations, it now boasts a 3,500-capacity main room alongside Space 54—a cosy, standalone club with its own entrance and a hefty d&b audio sound system. Over the years, the venue has gone by many names, including The Ballroom, the Top Rank Suite, Hummingbird, Carling Academy, and O2 Academy. It’s hosted everyone from The Clash to The Beastie Boys, Nirvana to Bob Marley & The Wailers, Amy Winehouse, and Ed Sheeran.

“I’m extremely passionate about preserving Birmingham’s rich musical heritage and our work culminates with Forum Birmingham. It was my old stomping ground and helped shape my musical journey so to celebrate its 60 Year anniversary with this series of events is very special.” – Billy Chauhan of Global Venues

This anniversary season will be a proper mix of Birmingham’s rich musical heritage and fresh, forward-thinking energy. Expect a spotlight on emerging talent, some exciting new event concepts, and next-level sound tech, including d&b audiotechnik’s Soundscape system. This cutting-edge setup brings immersive audio with pinpoint accuracy—something you really need to hear to believe.

“We’re witnessing the systematic dismantling of the UK night-time economy so the success of Forum Birmingham should be celebrated as they approach their 60 Year milestone. Our industry is not just about entertainment; it’s about identity, community, and the economy so we must support the intrepid operators who keep these amazing venues open for future generations.” – Michael Kill – Vice President, International Nightlife Association (INA)

The first wave of events kicks off with Fac 51 – The Hacienda, the legendary acid house party that shaped the late ’80s and ’90s scene. Sonny Fodera will also take the stage, delivering his signature house tunes that have earned him millions of Spotify listeners and hits like ‘Somedays’ and ‘One Night’. Meanwhile, HE.SHE.THEY will bring its unique vibe, championing inclusivity and diversity with a killer underground soundtrack. You can also count on high-energy Drum & Bass from DNB Allstars, bass-heavy beats from Weird Science, and festival-level line-ups curated by Live Nation.
