Beatport Launches BPXX: Celebrating 20 Years of Dance Music and DJ Culture

Beatport, the go-to place for DJs, producers, and music lovers worldwide, is throwing a year-long bash called BPXX to celebrate its 20th anniversary! They’re calling it “Music Is Unstoppable,” and it’s packed with cool stuff – special programs, events, and even a look back at the last 20 years of dance music. Want to join the party? Dive into the BPXX Capsule, a digital experience that takes you from Beatport’s very first track, ‘Beatfreaker’ by Steve Smooth (Remixed by Jay Walker and David Garcia Retromode), to their latest tech innovations linking Beatport and Beatsource with DJ software and hardware.

Since kicking off in 2004, Beatport has become the ultimate hub for DJs and producers. They’ve made some smart moves, snagging awesome platforms like Loopcloud and Plugin Boutique for music creation, plus handy tools like ampsuite and LabelRadar for independent artists. In 2023, Beatport even scooped up the International Music Summit Ibiza (IMS), the top conference in the dance music business. Talk about evolution – The Beatport Group is now this all-encompassing community for DJs, producers, and their dedicated fans.

And guess what’s making a comeback? The Beatport Awards – it’s been a minute since they last did it in 2011!
• BPXX Unstoppable Pride (June): June is all about celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community’s massive contributions to dance music culture. Get ready for a month of honouring those awesome influences.
