Ekoboy returns with ‘Essoi’

Share

In the time of ancient Greece, when the main religion was the Dodecatheon, the ancient Greeks organised various festivals in honour of the Gods, in which various hymns and songs were sung. In such a manner in honour of God Dionysus, his followers sang the Bacchic songs, songs that had a type of orgiastic vibe and rhythm!

Following his ancestor’s footsteps, a modern Greek artist who goes by the name of Ekoboy creates a manic Euclidean groove that plays along with a vibey atmosphere that transcends and possesses the listener to a higher state of consciousness.

Ekoboy is the reflection of Greek DJ/producer Vangelis Kostoxenakis. Widely known for his raw, quirky signature style and established by his releases on Dirtybird, Moon Harbour and Toolroom to name a few. This new project is directly proportional to the quality of his production style incorporating a rounded polished sound. With signed releases on top underground labels, Ekoboy is rounding the edges while polishing the rawness with style.

We premiere Ekoboy’s ‘Essoi’ today on Data Transmission, check it out here and grab it on Beatport.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
