DROELOE X IMANU set to drop ‘Catalyst’ via UKF
Share
Rolling into 2023 with a new mind-bending single are Dutch producers, composers and multi-instrumentalists DROELOE and IMANU with ‘Catalyst’ which is being released via UKF today (Thursday 16th February). Having previously released on Bitbird, Lowly Records, CloudKid and plenty more, with music in the same lane as ODESZA and Flume, and supporting artists such as San Holo, DROELOE has started merging his sound with Drum & Bass. Produced in collaboration with one of the biggest rising stars in the D&B scene IMANU, the new single ‘Catalyst’ explores experimental music sounds that merge elements of Drum & Bass with fast drums, aggressive yet energetic basslines and chilling build-ups. Well known for his forward-thinking production style, DROELOE has been keeping audiences on their toes throughout the years.
Since DROELOE’s first release in 2016, he’s released two albums and gone on to clock over 200 million streams on Spotify alone. His previous work has seen support from the likes of Dancing Astronaut, We Rave You and DJ Times. With IMANU also holding over 600K monthly listeners on Spotify and holding a worldwide fanbase, the collaboration between DROELOE and IMANU couldn’t be more anticipated by their impressive fan base. Rising to the spotlight at the age of just 16 with his brutalist style of music, IMANU has developed his presence on the scene as one of the greats. Now in his early 20’s he’s already had releases on significant labels such as Deadbeats, UKF and VISION, he’s remixed the likes of Apashe, TOKiMONSTA and What So Not and Skrillex and already collaborated with the likes of Noisia, KUČKA, Pham and josh pan. IMANU has previously been supported by Attack Magazine, ADE, Magnetic Mag and The Electric Hawk.
DROELOE X IMANU came together after their collaboration on IMANU’s ‘UNFOLD’ album released on Deadbeats last year – their track ‘Shoyu’ has received 1.1 million streams and over 5 million streams on ‘Unfold’ on Spotify alone.
‘Catalyst’ begins with a glitchy presence, demonstrating the pair’s deeply embedded skills in producing mind-bending electronic sounds. The intro builds up with fast synthesized vocals, chord bends and glitchy sounds and develops into a hard-hitting sound of liquid D&B. There’s no surprise to see that DROELOE’s fan base lies in all corners of the globe. His impressive musical ideology is reinforced through keen visual storytelling, hiding easter eggs in his artwork and producing frequent social media content.
