Leading the charge, globally acclaimed dance music icons Jungle will deliver a headline DJ set, bringing their signature blend of funk, soul, and electronic grooves to the Stowaway stage. Reggae legends The Wailers, known for their timeless hits and connection to Bob Marley’s legacy, will bring an authentic roots reggae experience. Another pioneer of reggae and punk, Don Letts, will be behind the decks, spinning an eclectic selection that embodies his genre-crossing legacy. Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay makes a welcome return following the duo’s unforgettable 2024 set, promising another journey through house, funk, and electronic classics.

“I had a ball playing twice at the brilliant Stowaway last summer and so happy to be invited back this year to play disco on the Listen Here stage either side of some of my favourite DJs…. see you on the dance floor!” – Tom Findlay (Groove Armada)

The second wave of artists also features jungle trailblazer DJ Storm, a key figure in the Drum & Bass scene, and NTS selector Shy One, known for her genre-fluid approach to DJing. Festival favourite Luke Una will go B2B with the ever-eclectic Prosumer, delivering a set brimming with deep cuts and dancefloor energy. They join an already stacked line-up featuring previously announced headliners Fabio & Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra, Shy FX, Derrick Carter, Horse Meat Disco, Seun Kuti, Anna Erhard, James Alexander Bright, Cousin Kula, and Webmoms. Our very own Hobbs & Ron Mexico will also be there for their debut at Stowaway and will bring their usual energy, vibes and fun! From late-night discos to family-friendly singalongs, each day brings something new, with our stages offering fresh experiences every evening. We want to take you on a musical adventure, whether it’s exploring the woods, relaxing by the jetty, or hunting down our secret late-night ‘covers’ bar…” Festival founder Duncan Wheeler

Seventeen years ago, Data Transmission was born from a passion for dance music, a love for discovering fresh talent, and a desire to support artists in reaching their full potential. What started as a blog has grown into a multifaceted platform covering every corner of the electronic music world, from house and tech house to drum & bass, disco, and deep tech. Over the years, we’ve interviewed thousands of artists, premiered nearly 8,000 tracks, and published more than 40,000 articles, all in the name of championing the music we love.

At the heart of DT is a dedication to helping artists, whether that’s through sharing their music with the world, offering insights on the industry, or providing hands-on feedback in our demo sessions. In the past decade, we’ve helped countless DJs and producers move from their bedrooms to touring globally, signing record deals, and building their personal brands. Our demo feedback sessions have become a cornerstone of this mission, creating a space for artists to refine their sound, gain industry insights, and get their music heard by key players.

Our record labels have also grown into distinct brands supporting artists at all levels: Data Transmission (house & tech house from bigger artists), DT WEAPONS (tech house floor-fillers from emerging talent), 63B (deep tech & minimal), DT DNB (drum & bass & jungle), and Disco Infiltrators (disco, nu-disco, and 130 disco house). These imprints allow us to not only support new artists but also showcase the music that drives dance floors worldwide.

Beyond the blog and labels, DT Radio has become a force in its own right, providing a platform for over 160 show hosts to share their sound with a dedicated global audience. Our radio station is a hub for underground music, breaking new talent and giving DJs a place to be heard.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of being the first to write about artists who are now household names, spotting their potential before the rest of the world caught on. We’ve also taken our passion to the live stage, hosting events at legendary venues like Space Ibiza, as well as major festivals from Hideout and Parklife to more recent showcases at Hidden Festival in Milton Keynes.

For me, 17 years later, I still wake up every day excited to discover new music, support emerging talent, and help artists reach their goals. Running Data Transmission has meant 100-hour work weeks, countless hours of listening to demos, writing about the scene, and connecting with the people who make it thrive. But seeing artists succeed, grow their careers, and breakthrough makes every moment worth it.

A massive shout-out to our incredible team and everyone who has been part of this journey over the years. From the writers, radio hosts, and event teams to the artists who trust us with their music—thank you for being part of the Data Transmission story.

Here’s to the next chapter!

Thanks, Grahame & Shelley xx

One of London’s best venues fabric has announced the long-awaited upgrade to its legendary Room 1 BodyKinetic dancefloor, marking the final step in the Room 1 sound system overhaul. This project kicked off in 2024 as part of the massive ‘fabric25’ celebrations and continues the club’s 25-year partnership with Martin Audio. Now, Room 1 is taking things to the next level, pushing boundaries in immersive sound.

For the first time since 1999, the world’s first BodyKinetic dancefloor has had a major upgrade, completely reimagining how crowds experience sound and vibration. Working with Powersoft, fabric has introduced cutting-edge Movers—high-tech linear transducers—designed to make the music feel even more intense. The new system delivers way more power and precision, creating an ultra-immersive, haptic experience that lets dancers connect with the music on a whole new level.

The original sound design for Room 1 featured a groundbreaking and advanced dance floor, incorporating Bodysonic transducers. These transducers resonated the floor with silent subharmonics that travelled through the body. Combined with a quadraphonic speaker setup and impeccable audio processing from the DJ booth, the system was ahead of its time. Keith Reilly and Dave Parry established themselves with the forward-thinking club design they introduced 25 years ago. Staying true to our heritage, we chose to retrofit and refine the original system rather than replace it entirely.

We knew the newly refurbished Room 1 sound system wouldn’t be complete without upgrading the floor as well. We’ve been working tirelessly to make this happen. Installation began immediately after the New Year’s Day show, with the full technical team involved and years of planning and design behind it.

Arguably unnecessary? Perhaps. But we believe it’s worth it.”  Matt Smith – fabric Technical Manager

The Tech Behind It

Powersoft’s system is a game-changer, needing just 36 units instead of the 450+ transducers used in the old setup. Unlike traditional systems where copper coils move inside a magnetic field, these Movers flip the process—moving the magnet within the coils. The result? More power, better reliability, and a stronger physical connection to the music. They also use way less energy, making them a huge leap forward in tactile sound technology.

Accessibility Through Vibration

One of the most exciting parts of this upgrade is how it makes music more accessible for the Deaf community. By turning sound into vibrations, the dancefloor allows people to feel the music in a whole new way. fabric is working with Deaf Rave to fine-tune the system, making sure it delivers the best experience possible for those with hearing impairments.

Sound Meditations at fabric

The new dancefloor also sets the stage for something completely different—Mastery Quantum Sound, a series of events blending meditation and electronic music. Quantum Sound first landed at fabric in March 2024, with Daniel Avery performing an ambient live set to a crowd lying down, eyes closed, alongside an immersive sound journey from Cherub Sanson and Tim Wheater. Now, Quantum Sound is officially teaming up with fabric for a residency running from 25th February to June 2025.

Across five events, artists like Hannah Holland, Flora Yin Wong, Wata Igarashi, and Jennifer Loveless will explore the deeper side of sound, with a special guest closing the series. The final event will take things even further, mixing live music with Cherub and Tim’s sound healing expertise for a unique fusion of club culture and wellness.

Tickets are limited, so sign up now for early access. fabric and Quantum Sound will also be reserving free tickets for members of the Deaf community. CLICK HERE

The new dancefloor is now open to the public and is fully functioning in Room 1, so get yourself down to an event and check it out asap!! Check out their What’s On page here

Dust off your dancing boots and grab your glitter – Campo Sancho is back for another weekend of pure, unfiltered groove magic. From July 25-27 at Walkern Hall, Hertfordshire, the legendary Sancho Panza crew is bringing their boutique festival vibes to the countryside once again, with a fire lineup that blends house, disco, funk, soul, and a whole lotta love.

With Optimo, Crazy P, Luke Una, Tigerbalm, Aroop Roy, Grace Sands, Tia Cousins and a packed roster of party starters, this is shaping up to be one for the heads, the hips, and the heart.

Sancho Panza has been setting dancefloors alight since the early warehouse days, soundtracking sweaty, euphoric nights and defining proper underground dance culture. With a two-decade reign as Notting Hill Carnival’s go-to house music powerhouse, they’ve built a legacy of big vibes, even bigger basslines, and dancefloor moments that stick with you forever—and 2025 is no exception.

Still leading from the front, still throwing down with the best, and still serving up unforgettable festival energy, this year’s lineup is stacked, bringing legends, rising stars, and groove maestros together for another unmissable Campo Sancho session.

This year, they’re serving up a feast of selectors, featuring genre-bending Optimo, the ever-iconic Luke Una, disco-funk fusionists Crazy P, and the euphoric energy of Tigerbalm. Expect house, nu-disco, Balearic bangers, and everything in between from selectors like Grace Sands, Aroop Roy, and Tia Cousins, plus a stellar supporting cast, including Lisa Loud, Pete Herbert, Stuart Patterson, Sophie Lloyd, and Serge Santiago b2b David Parr (aka Stompa Phunk Sound System).

And because Campo Sancho isn’t just about the dancefloor, 2025 sees the introduction of “Upwoods”, a brand-new woodland escape curated by Listen Here, Camp Bliss, and Sancho Panza. Expect laid-back grooves, immersive performances, and plenty of cocktail-fueled toe-tapping from the likes of Aidy West, Emma Noble, Ronnie Turner, and Dan The Drum.

Family Friendly, Dancefloor Approved

It’s not just about the grown-ups getting their groove on – Campo Sancho has something for the little ravers too. Expect circus acts, kids’ discos (yes, with Lisa Loud on deck duties!), roaming performers, and a proper arts programme to keep the young ones entertained while the parents cut shapes.

Tickets Are Flying – Don’t Get FOMO

Tickets for Campo Sancho 2025 are moving fast, with Early Birds already nearly gone. Don’t be the mate that waits until the last minute and misses out – secure your spot now at campotickets.sanchopanza.org.

IMS Ibiza, the go-to platform for exploring the intersection of culture, education, industry, and wellness in electronic music, is back for its sixteenth year. The summit has just dropped the first details of its IMS Ibiza 2025 edition, and they’re inviting the global electronic music community to get involved by nominating speakers and panellists to tackle the big issues that matter most. This year’s theme, INTERGENERATIONAL EXCHANGE, is all about connecting different generations within the electronic music world. From seasoned pros to fresh talent, IMS Ibiza 2025 will foster collaboration and creative sparks by blending experience with bold new ideas. It’s shaping up to be a vibrant meeting of minds that dives deep into the past four decades to inspire the future.

One of the standout sessions, FOUR DECADES OF JUNGLE & DRUM ’N’ BASS: THE MCS TO THE OGS TO THE NEW BREED, will celebrate the genre’s journey from its jungle roots in the UK to its global reach today. Expect insights into how Drum & Bass has remained a powerful cultural force while looking at what’s next for the scene.

Another highlight is MARKET FOCUS: SPAIN – FROM FIESTAS TO ITS FUTURE, which takes a closer look at Spain’s rich musical history, its influence on international trends, and its role in shaping the next wave of festivals, talent, and creativity.

Other sessions to watch out for include:

THE FUTURE OF GLOBAL NIGHTLIFE: A candid look at how nightlife can adapt to challenges like economic pressures and cultural shifts.

THE SILENT EPIDEMIC: Breaking the stigma around tinnitus and hearing loss, while promoting ways to protect long-term hearing health.

AFRICA IS NOT A COUNTRY: Exploring the growth of electronic music across Africa and how to engage with its markets ethically and sustainably.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF DANCE & ELECTRONIC LABELS: How labels are navigating a changing industry where DIY releases and short-term deals are the new norm.

GET PLAYED, GET PAID: Hosted by AFEM, this session dives into the evolving rights and revenue landscape in the USA.

MENTOR MATCHMAKING: A unique chance for young industry hopefuls to connect one-on-one with seasoned experts for advice, ideas, and collaboration.

The IMS Ibiza curation committee is responsible for shaping the summit’s programming, ensuring it stays relevant, engaging, and reflective of the ever-evolving music industry. This diverse group of industry leaders plays a crucial role in crafting an agenda that resonates with the global electronic music community.

The committee includes (in alphabetical order): Ben Turner (Co-Founder, IMS), Blaise DeAngelo (Co-Founder, The Art of Areté), Chloe Lula (Senior Producer, Resident Advisor), Danny Whittle (Co-Founder, IMS), Farah Nanji (Artist/Curation Manager, N1NJA/IMS), Grace Ladoja MBE (Co-Founder & CEO, Metallic Inc.), Jaguar (Co-Host/Broadcaster, IMS/BBC Radio One), Katie Sallows (General Manager, IMS), Kikelomo Oludemi (Artist), Pete Tong (Co-Founder/Broadcaster, IMS/BBC Radio One), Silvia Montello (CEO, Voicebox Consulting), Sofia Ilyas (Chief Community Officer, Beatport), Sophia Kearney (Co-Founder, HE.SHE.THEY.), Steven Braines (Co-Founder, HE.SHE.THEY.), and Tracie Storey aka Tensuhi (Vibrational Sound Practitioner, Qigong Teacher & Sound Designer).

The summit takes place over three days at the stunning Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza hotels in Cala Llonga. These venues, exclusively reserved for delegates, offer a relaxed yet vibrant setting perfect for networking, discussions, and unwinding. Located just 10 minutes from Ibiza Town, they’re surrounded by breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and peaceful nature trails—ideal for recharging between sessions.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the planet, IMS Ibiza 2025 is teaming up again with EarthPercent, co-founded by Brian Eno. A portion of badge sales and sponsorship fees will support impactful climate and biodiversity projects, so every attendee will be contributing to a greener future.

And of course, it wouldn’t be IMS Ibiza without the iconic closing party at Dalt Vila, where delegates can enjoy one of the island’s most unforgettable nights. Splice, the platform that’s always helping music creators push boundaries, has just added Country music to its Create AI tool. This is a game-changer for dance music producers looking to experiment with fresh, authentic sounds—especially with Country music’s global rise. Now, you can easily incorporate real Country vocals and instruments into your tracks, blending genres like never before.

To capture the true essence of Country, Splice spent months in Nashville, Austin, and Los Angeles, collaborating with top-tier musicians. The result? ‘Splice Country’, a brand-new sample label featuring performances from some of the finest Country artists, including Devin Malone (Jelly Roll, Carrie Underwood), Trevor Nealon (Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack), and Kate L. Malone (Sam Hunt, Emma White).

“Create is already changing the game for producers across genres whose phones are filled with Stacks and I’m looking forward to seeing how the country community engages with the tool,” said Kenny Ochoa, SVP of Content at Splice. “Our ability to deliver these beautiful country samples right into studio workflows is going to make such a difference for country producers. It was important to us to get this right, to find the right musicians to play on these sample packs, and get the best recording quality and instrumentation that producers in the country space want to use.”

This collection kicks off with ten sample packs packed with loops and melodies using iconic Country instruments like dobro, pedal steel, lap steel, and banjo. These sounds are now available in Splice’s Create Mode, giving dance producers easy access to real, human-made vocals and instrumentals that can give your tracks that unique Country twist.

“Inspiration can be a luxury when you’re always creating,” says CMA Award-winning songwriter Mikey Reaves (Miranda Lambert, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson), producer of the recently released ‘Country Mojo & Spice’ sound pack. “That’s where Splice Create comes in. With a single click, it generates a full production vibe—again & again—until the right one sparks your next song.”

With Country music taking off globally, now’s the perfect time to experiment. Splice’s new ‘Splice Country’ label adds to the platform’s 29 in-house sample labels, covering over 130 genres. It’s a powerful resource for producers who want to incorporate a fresh, crossover vibe and push the boundaries of dance music in new directions.
