Tea & Biscuits with Peter Pahn

German producer Peter Pahn makes his debut on Teenage Mutants’ Tragedie with a new track titled “Rave Revival”. An uplifting techno-pride and trancy original cut to be included in the EP “Shattered Pieces VA” where are also participating Soolver and ANDATA.

The full pack will be officially dropped this March 19 on Spotify (one week later on Beatport and definitely on April 9 in all digital stores) but know what, we premiere the optimistic “Rave Revival” for you today, we even talked a bit with the artist to know more about him and his life and work.

Hi Peter, thanks for taking the time to speak to us. Can you tell us where you are at the moment and how you have been finding these strange times we find ourselves in?

Hello Nude / Techno, it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to likewise speak with you.

I’m living in Frankfurt am Main, in Germany. Professionally, I continue my work as a civil engineer. I enjoy my work; I’m good at it and it pays my bills. However, my real passion is Music. After my day job, I go to my studio. Between working and producing, I try to escape out into Nature and keep myself healthy with sports and good food.

What are the main things (skills in production, your career as a DJ …) we should know about Peter Pahn? By the way, is that your real name? If not, what’s the story behind it?

Before producing, I always had a strong passion for techno and performing. After solidifying my skills in DJ’ing, I moved myself into the natural progression into producing.

The atmosphere of raving continues to my first love. I love to be on the dancefloor equally to how I love to be behind the decks. I live to be interacting with the crowd. Escalating and dancing in the front row. I merge with the audience.

Recently I’ve been focused on producing; this has been both challenging and rewarding; there is a particular unique satisfaction making an expression of yourself in the form of a track that other people can enjoy. This had led me on many personal development paths within my personal life. Technically, I produce using Ableton and preferably with the big bundle from plugin alliance.

PETER PAHN is not my real name. It’s a mix with my real name and with the fairy-tale character. It’s reflecting with the techno world – going in the club – leaving in the boring adult world, to forget everything that burdens you, to switch off.

And entering the club like in the fairy-tale only fun and nice people.

How would you define your sound and how do you stay focused while locked in the recording studio?

I would describe my sound as powerful, energetic, and positive.

The goal for me is always to create a positive energy – the listeners of my music should feel fun and smile.

The track we’re premiering today in 3 words…

As mentioned above: Powerful, energetic, and positive.

Can you tell our readers more about your relationship with Teenage Mutants and Tragedie label?

We come from the same beautiful city “Mainz”. That’s where we got to know and appreciate each other. Since two years PETER PAHN is a part of Teenage Mutants “Wir Sind Verboten” – booking agency, which is in cooperation with miracle management Barcelona.

A friendship has been built up over the years, which was intensified on a trip to the USA last year.

How is for you releasing new music in the midst of the strange time we’re living in…?

For me, it’s just perfect to balance things out, because you can’t do anything and I’m always at home, so I try to turn the negative situation into positive energy and also to educate myself musically. That’s why I spend every free second in the studio so that at the end of this time I can’t reproach myself for not having used it wisely. That’s why I stay true to my release plan.

For me as a newcomer, it is also very important that I use the time and step on the gas! I will do that; this is not the last time you will hear from PETER PAHN.

Anything else you’d like to add and/or any positive vibes to share with us?

Just want to say thanks for all the support I get from you, my family and friends. Negativity starts in the mind. No matter what happens, we can mentally transform negative energy into positive energy.

Stay healthy and focused. Spend time in and connecting with nature.

Listen to ‘Rave Revival’ above and grab it on Beatport.
