Share
For the 3rd time Aussie producer Barbuto who is based in Austin Texas returns to Unity Records.
It was after just a little over a decade of envisioning a full-time DJ career when things took off for Barbuto in 2015 after his first release on Octopus Recordings. Having attracted the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano who eventually remixed he follow up EP on Octopus, “Vanta Black”. That same year Barbuto appeared in DJ Mag, who came across a set of his from Coda in Toronto. They touted it as one of the best sets of the year. Since signing with Octopus labels Tronic, Phobiq, OFF, Unity and Transmit amongst several other boutique labels had released Barbuto’s music.
Not short thereafter attracting the attention of mainstay artists like, Spektre, Black Asteroid and Loco & Jam who all signed up for remix duty for Barbuto’s most premiere releases. He’s was then on the receiving end of loads of remix requests. They came from label heads Fatima Haji for her Silver M label, Hollen, Filterheadz, Rafaelle Rizzi, Riot’s Frankyeffe and Kostas Maskalides to name a few. 2019 birthed Mavic Music, a techno label head by Barbuto focusing heavily on upcoming artists from his homeland Australia. He also brought in established producers from around the world such as The Filterheadz, David Dega, D.R.N.D.Y, I AM BAM and Barbuto.
Compared to the dark shadows of previous releases as well as the gloominess of our current times. Barbuto has carved out a bright hand in the air festival style track appropriately titled “Festoon”. Catchy horns, bells, flutes and whistles float on top of heavy drum work and bold bright stabs ‘Festoon’ is a foot-stomping hand in the air party tune. Colombian producer Mark D on remix rounds off the track with his signature style. Festoon hits the digital shelves Feb 1.
