Watch an Interview with Positiva Records on The Changing Face of A&R

International Music Summit (IMS Ibiza) brought together the leading figureheads of the Positiva Records label – from its inception inside EMI to the global careers it’s launched, and where it stands today. In an keynote interview with BBC Radio 1, Broadcaster Pete Tong –  Nick Halkes (Positiva/EMI Dance, Founder/Managing Director: 1993-1999, UK) & Jason Ellis (Positiva/Virgin Records, A&R Director: 2008-present, UK) discuss the 25 Years of the label and how Nick is keeping them strong and still relevant in the current era.

IMS took place from May 23rd – 25th 2018. Each year they bring together the most influential figures in the industry to Ibiza for three days of talks, panels and debates including this year leading visionaries on Blockchain, Drug Testing, Sexual Harassment and Mental Health.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
