Top Acid House Events in July 2022

To many, Acid House evokes squelchy basslines of the TB-303, smiley faces and the illegal raves of the late 80s & early 90s. While it hasn’t hit the mainstream as a genre in it’s own right since then, the sound has remained popular and a healthy scene is still very much alive with artists such as Paranoid London, Luke Vibert & Posthuman. There are also a decent number of promoters supporting the scene and July is shaping up to be a great month for Acid fans.
Don’t Vs. I Love Acid, Corsica Studios, London – Saturday 2nd July 2022
The annual party from Posthuman’s I Love Acid and Jerome Hill’s Don’t parties, never disappoint. Hosted at Corsica Studios, one room is dedicated to Acid and the other to Techno.
In addition to Posthuman and Jerome Hill, this year’s lineup includes Luke Vibert, Tasha, Michelle Manetti, Tsuin as well as live sets from Cursor Minor and Suddi Raval.

CTRL Z, The Star of Kings, London – Saturday 9th July 2022
The CTRL Z radio show started during lockdown in 2020 and recently celebrated it’s 2 year anniversary.
For their first event in London, CTRL Z’s resident, Renyard has invited some of his favourite DJs to Kings Cross to showcase an eclectic take on the acid sound, including Tsuin, Blaze DJ, Eddie B and Maverick DJs. Taking over the Funktion-One sound system of the basement of The Star of Kings pub, this is one debut not to be missed.
Let’s Go Back To Acid, McChuills, Glasgow – Saturday 23rd July 2022
Original Haçienda resident and current I Love Acid resident, Jon DaSilva makes the trip north of the border for this one with Bosco, Troy Da Gardener and Niall Moody completing the lineup. This should be a great opportunity to see one of the originators of the Acid House scene in the UK, who is still very much on top of his game.

DABJ 10th Birthday, Junction 1, Glasgow – Saturday 23rd July 2022
Dixon Avenue Basement Jams celebrate their 10th birthday at Junction 1 in Glasgow on 23rd July. With Paranoid London headlining and Granary 12 included on the lineup, this is going to make any Acid fan happy.

Inverted Audio X MUSAR RECORDINGS – Friday 29th July 2022
Glasgow-based DJ, producer, vocalist, club promoter and label boss Nightwave headlines Inverted Audio’s first London event since 2013. Expect her signature sound of Acid, Chicago House, Detroit Techno and Electro. Supporting her will be Manchester’s DR MYSTERY, an all-vinyl set from Inverted Audio founder Antepop and MUSAR label boss Dweedo.
