Woah… September was a very exciting month here in Ibiza.

With the anticipation of the Closings drawing nearer and nearer we then saw Carl Cox deliver nothing short of a roof-raising closing performance for his Music Is Revolution: The Final Chapter party at Space. That night will go down in history as one of the most memorable for so many of us… where I witnessed queues around the block of 3 or more hours to get into the club, the Discoteca going from empty to full in 60 seconds, and quite a few party-goers in floods of tears when the final track of the night ‘The Doors – The End’ was dropped by Cox as the grande finale. We were then treated to the most amazing after Party courtesy of the guys at Ssssssh! Ibiza which was held at The Zoo Ibiza (Benimussa Park) and saw the return of Coxy to the decks as well as blinding sets from Eats Everything and Nic Fanciulli. I was very proud to be a part of the afterparty, playing a late afternoon set in the Panda Club within Zoo, something I will never forget and so happy to have been a part of. Now, the final round of closing parties are imminent as we say our final farewell to Space on Sunday 2nd October and I celebrate turning 31 on the dance floor – what a way to celebrate! My residency for Tribal Sessions at Sankeys Ibiza carries on until 29th October, which I’m very glad of as I’m just not ready to see the end of the season yet! I hope you enjoy my selection of the hottest tracks in Ibiza this month… Some real beauties in there for you! Kellie x

Marco Carola – Play It Loud (Mihalis Safras Remix)
I got sent this track a while ago as a promo from Yousef’s Circus label and was so excited to hear it going off around the island at various parties. I remember Matthias Tanzmann at Ushuaia Opening and Andrea Oliva at Antz were a couple of occasions I was present at when it was played…  So when Carl Cox dropped it into his last ever set at the closing of Music Is Revolution: The Final Chapter I was delighted! What a party it was, one that will go down in history, such an emotional night. We partied all the way until 8am and then I was privileged to play a set at the official afterparty ‘Game Over’ at The Zoo Ibiza (Benimussa Park). Those two parties combined were a definite highlight of my Ibiza clubbing history.

Dominica – I Gotta Let U Go (Bicep Edit)
My Tribal buddy Bontan killed it with his closing set at Sankeys recently for Tribal Sessions… Whilst wrapped from head to toe in paper towel (ahem Josh Butler) and resembling some weird mummified DJ, he dropped in the Bicep edit of Dominica’s ‘I Gotta Let U Go’ and the entire Basement went mental. An electric moment for all of us at Tribal… Not sure if Bontan could actually see the crowds’ reaction through his makeshift bandages though! This (unofficial) edit keeps the most important and well-loved elements of the original from 1995 and is a real game-changer at the peak of the night… Nicely executed by Bontan!

Andrea Oliva – Scream
This new release on Knee Deep In Sound has been doing the rounds in Ibiza a lot this month, and has a great impact on the dance floor with the recognisable sample from Black Box’s ‘Ride On Time’. The original holds a very special place in my heart since it is one of my earliest musical memories. My mum had tape-recorded it to play continuously and I remember singing and dancing to it as a youngster whilst mopping the kitchen floor for her! Fond times. So for that reason alone this track was always going to make it into my Top 5 selection. Hot Since 82 celebrated his birthday with a one-off party at Destino and the party-goers went mad for this whilst dancing in the open air at night. He also dropped it this Wednesday just gone at the Paradise Closing Party at DC-10. Massive reaction from the crowds on the terrace, another highlight of the summer.

Kollektiv Turmstrasse – Sorry I Am Late (Richy Ahmed Remix)
When the original release is great but then the remix package comes out and is off the chain! Richy Ahmed’s take on the original by Kollektiv Turmestrasse is a favourite of mine, and a lot of others out there too it seems! My Tribal bro Miguel Campbell has been dropping this into his recent sets as well as Jamie Jones at Paradise and Richy himself at Elrow. It was released earlier this month on FFRR after the original dropped on Solomun’s Diynamic label in 2015 and has made a huge impact already. The chugging bassline is killer and he has taken some of the best elements from the original and created a bomb of a remix, I can’t get enough.

wAFF – Sick Pleasure
I heard this one for the first time on Wednesday night at the closing of Paradise at DC-10 and had me hooked from the intricate drum pattern. It’s a brand new release on Hot Creations, which came out for general release on the same day as the party… which must’ve felt pretty good for wAFF as he dropped it on the terrace. Loving the build of the track leading into a groovy mid section and sultry male vocal with lots of hooky sound effects and automated delays… Perfect for the dance floor and went down a right treat just before midnight at the closing.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
