Born in Milan and raised in London, Cristina Lazic started playing the piano when was six, grew up composing music and is now leading two successful parallel careers, working for Google and also having achieved widespread and international success as a DJ and producer.

Influenced by the minimal and microhouse sounds of producers such as NTFO, Raresh and Priku, and the English strands of Fuse London and Solid Grooves, Cristina has recently thrown herself into the field of production, collecting a series of successes with upcoming releases including this one on Crosstown Rebels’ Rebellion and Creature Records.

If you could describe Cristina with three words, then there would be passion, determination and vision. Ultimately, Cristina’s objective is that of making people dance and create a special connection with the audience, where she takes them on a journey based on long-mixed transitions and emotional sets.

In this interview, I spoke to the Deep / Minimal producer, Crosstown rebellion signed & resident DJ and Shesaid. So ambassador Cristina Lazic.

Cristina who is a member of my ‘The Artist Blueprint’ course (linked below) has quickly risen from bedroom DJ & producer to playing at some of the biggest parties and Clubs around the world & being signed to Damian Lazarus’ label ‘Crosstown Rebellion’ in a very short space of time!

In this Student spotlight focused interview we delve into how her journey into electronic music started, how my course was beneficial to her progress so quickly and we also talk about the challenges facing female producers/DJ’s and the amazing initiative she leads being the parenthood committee of ‘Shesaid. So’ focusing on safeguarding the interest of artists with children that are changing the Music industry for the better!

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
