Paris and London-based electronic duo Rose Rose, are pleased to announce a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Sugar Hill (Night Version), lifted from the upcoming EP ‘Eye To Eye Remixes) due 6th June through Neville Street Music.
Melding a vibrant fusion of disco, French touch, and electronic beats to their inimitable sound, Rose Rose tease an extended version of their recent EP, ‘Eye to Eye’ for the first half of 2024, that includes alternative versions, remixes and exclusive new tracks.
“We decided to make disco with electronic sounds, strip the tracks back to their essence and electrify them.”
They say:
Before making waves at the iconic Parisian festival Rock en Seine, they unveiled their debut EP ‘Eye to Eye’ back in March 2023, a dazzling concoction of 70s disco, dreamy keys, and rhythmic guitars, adorned with a distinct touch of pop. Beyond the EP’s success, Rose Rose are now immersed in the creation of a new album and aim to embark on a rhythmic journey through their very own musical universe, where their nuanced sound quietly captivates, leaving an indelible mark in the musical realm.
Today, they join us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or iTunes here.
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
We love Jamie XX‘s track on this mix, it’s got something UK and something very French too, we put it last as it felt like the perfect conclusion to end with the vibe of our two home cities, Paris and London !
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Similarly to what happens in the studio, there’s always an exchange between both of us, we have contrasting tastes at times but we always end up with a variety that shapes up into one block, in the end it’s those little differences in emotions that make things special.
Tell us about your next EP?
We are currently working on an album, unlike our first EP which was more of a tribute to our teenage years, this will be more focused on our current situation. We still want to keep those vintage references but with the influence of more recent technology. Lyrics will be just as personal but maybe more obvious and less metaphorical, we won’t say more though!
What have you got coming up?
Aside from working on our debut album we are revisiting and extending our live set ! We’ll play this new hour-long set for the first time at the “Chez Hubert” Festival on August 18th in France, we are very excited to see how the crowd will react, it’s always fun and intriguing at the same time. Oh and we’ll also be releasing a special instrumental track after summer, it’s dancy and dreamy, but more bathtub dancy than club dancy, it doesn’t really make sense, or does it?
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
We did the mix we wanted to hear if the crowd was only us two, so we hope you will enjoy those sixty minutes of sincerity !! <3 Thanks for listening !! Pierre & Sam
