343 – Henrik B

Share

House and Techno for all their links and similarities still have a wealth of differences and so DJs who can genuinely weave two of electronic music’s most coveted genres into one seamless arrangement naturally garner a lot of attention. This weeks podcast comes from a man who did exactly that in Henrik B but as a man with many talents refused to be contained within even these massive perimeters as can be evidenced by the eclectic nature of the labels Henrik has worked with. Releasing on labels such Drumcode and Primate & Corb it wasn’t too long before Henrik’s productions crossed genres even further into the burgeoning EDM scene as he began to work closely with the likes of Angello, Prydz and the other key players within that field.

From there as they say the rest is history… the last 3 years have taken Henrik on a very prosperous & profile building ride. Remixing & releasing for such institutional labels as Size, Pryda, Positiva, Defected and now Avicii’s EDM powerhouse Le7els we thought it was about time we brought him in to deliver us a mix. Full of big room sounds to lure fans onto the dancefloor this is a set that has party to remember written all over it. So if your unable to tempt Henrik into playing at your house for a party anytime soon check this out as a sure fire way to get people moving…

Sum up this podcast in 10 words… The mix is an energetic and melodic prime time hour!   What’s your personal favourite track on it? My intro edit of M83 and Deniz Kuyo -Bong.    What’s the special ingredient in this mix? I would say the positive energy.   What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?  My whole US/Canada tour recently was really good! I am actually on my way to LA right now as I write this. Playing at Avalon tonight and Ruby Skye, SF tomorrow.    What have you got coming up?  I have quite a few tracks I am working on and it’s hard to decide which of them to release next! But definitely before the end of the year.   And finally, do you have a special message for our readers? Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
