After establishing a strong presence with releases on influential labels like Planet Misteron, The Mob Recordings, Subplate Recordings, and Drippyboiii Recordings, Birmingham-based producer Hickupz returns with his debut solo album ‘Cleopatra’. This milestone release not only highlights his progression as an artist but also marks a new chapter for Drippyboiii Recordings, being the first solo album from any artist under their banner.

Hickupz’s latest work is a masterclass in minimal tones, showcasing his ability to craft immersive soundscapes that envelop the listener in a world of deep, atmospheric drum & bass. Collaborations with fellow UK artist Axis and Drippyboiii’s Konz further elevate the album, adding layers of complexity and texture to an already rich production. These partnerships seamlessly fuse together elements of intricate sound design, subtle rhythms, and a deep sense of groove, creating a compelling sonic journey.

Fans of minimal drum & bass will find themselves drawn to the album’s exploration of space and texture. Hickupz expertly weaves together ambient soundscapes, delicate percussion, and jazzy undertones, creating music that feels both forward-thinking and grounded in the rich history of electronic music. The album’s tracks blur the lines between genres, moving effortlessly from the deep, shadowy realms of drum & bass to the more ethereal and introspective side of electronica.

For long-time listeners of Hickupz, this album offers a fresh yet familiar take on his sound, delving into the minimal aesthetics that have become his trademark. Whether you’re drawn in by the intricate beats, the atmospheric melodies, or the deep basslines, Hickupz delivers an album that rewards repeated listens. It’s a testament to his growing influence within the drum & bass scene and his ability to continually evolve as an artist.

Hickupz’s debut album is more than just a collection of tracks; it’s a cohesive experience that invites listeners to explore the deeper, more introspective side of drum & bass. With its minimal tones, atmospheric elements, and a focus on sonic depth, this album is poised to be a standout release within the genre.
