Barbara Nicole Drops ‘Dirty Dutch Vol. 1’ on Good Crazy

Share

Barbara Nicole returns in spectacular form with Dirty Dutch Vol. 1, the eighth release on her groundbreaking label, Good Crazy, dropping December 6th.

Renowned for her sultry style and innovative sound, Barbara teams up once again with Dutch production powerhouses ST..N and FortySevn (aka Luxe Agoris and Raville), the same dream team behind her MORE OF ME EP. The result? Two jaw-dropping reimaginings of iconic tracks that blend nostalgia with future-facing club energy.

First up is Common People, a bold, darkwave-inspired twist on Pulp’s 1995 classic. Barbara transforms the bright, hopeful chords of the original into something sinister and seductive. Sparse Casiotone keys weave over pounding drum machines, pulling the track into a haunting, tech-driven underworld. Barbara’s hypnotic, monotone vocal delivery—layered with rich, sub-octave tones—casts a spell that redefines this anthem for a new generation of ravers.

Then comes SexyBack, Barbara’s electrifying take on Justin Timberlake’s 2006 hit. This acid-drenched, Hi-NRG electroclash banger is destined to ignite dancefloors worldwide. With pulsating rhythms and Barbara’s magnetic, siren-like vocals commanding attention, SexyBack delivers high-energy vibes for loft parties in New York, underground Berlin raves, and beach clubs in Bali alike.

“Dirty Dutch Vol. 1 brings back positive memories of California since it marked the first time collaborating with my Dirty Dutch brothers. On Common People, I enjoyed leaning into a dark, deadpan style of vocal delivery. With SexyBack, my muse called upon me to release a siren call, and I answered—it came so naturally. These covers mark the first of a few Dirty Dutch volumes, all dark interpretations of classics.”

Speaking about the release, Barbara shares:

With Dirty Dutch Vol. 1, Barbara Nicole kicks off what promises to be a landmark year, with a pipeline of exciting releases ready to make waves in 2025. If this is the opening act, we can’t wait to see what’s next.
