René LaVice launches his Device imprint

Share

René LaVice has just launched his exciting new label Device. Crossing genre boundaries and boasting production versatility.

“Device is a platform for releasing tracks that really bang. Certified festival heaters that push the boundaries and make the crowd pop. It’s a great home for the collaborations I’ve been doing with other top tier artists within D&B and beyond.”

He continues to reveal, “The aesthetic and the vibe of the label is meant to push you out of your comfort zone and act as an extension of my attitude toward genre bending and making a statement“.

From the humble beginnings of finding out about Drum & Bass music via the late night broadcasts on Toronto’s College Radio stations while growing up, René is a million miles away from where he started out.

René LaVice’s sound is unmistakable. Known for merging different styles and influences with his own sensibility, his music has a thumbprint which stands out in the mix. Nowhere could this be more evident than in his first breakthrough track ‘Headlock,’ which took the scene by storm and turned heads of tastemakers worldwide. Since then, René’s had a string of smashers, such as ‘The Calling’ ft. Ivy Mairi, a musical hybrid unlike any other which was A-Listed on Radio 1 for weeks and hit the billboard top 40 dance chart.

The first single to drop on the Device imprint is ‘Hollywood’ which features legendary Drum & Bass producer S.P.Y. for some seriously colossal breakdowns. Boasting warping bass and electrifying percussion René LaVice and S.P.Y have created a drum and bass weapon that is set to make dancefloors and festival tents explode! This is the start of something very special for René and we’re excited for more releases to come from this fledgeling imprint!

‘Hollywood’ dropped yesterday (6th March 2020). Check it out below and grab it from here
