Reviewed: Defected Closing at Eden Ibiza

Being a Defected regular, there was no chance I was missing their stellar line up for their closing party at Eden. Having held Ibiza residencies for over 15 years and being a household name, 2018 has seen a bigger and better year than ever before for Defected. With a state of the art custom VOID sound system built to deliver their unique sound, there was no doubt in my mind Eden was the perfect home for Defected to host their 2018 residency.

Arriving at Eden with a quick and easy entry, we went straight to the front of the room to catch Danny Howard banging out some housey beats. The club had some steps down into a little pit by the front of the stage and a few levels surrounding creating an arena-style stage. The subwoofers at the front shook your entire body if you stood close enough, the quality of sound was insane! Danny Howard dropping in a defected favourite, Purple Disco Machine – ‘Dished’ got the room bouncing, you can’t go wrong.

What I have to say I love, and what actually makes me a Defected regular is not only the fact they have some of the worlds best selectors playing their events, it’s the crowd Defected attract and the love and thought that is still put into everything that they do. Wanting to not only have the best music but have the best party. Not overselling tickets is a big one for me as there is always space to dance at a Defected event, I mean that’s what we came here to do right!?

Back to the dancefloor and Defected diva Sam Divine is bouncing along to her very own remix of Sweet Female Attitude – ‘Flowers’ and the room is absolutely vibzing! Scottish duo & Ibiza bred duo Mambo Brothers step up and having grown up around the best DJs in the world at their parents’ famous sunset Cafe Mambo these two are not one to be stuck in the smoking area for. They weren’t holding back for this closing party and having never seen the brothers play before I wasn’t disappointed… the best way I can describe their sound is “house as f*ck” – love it.

Finally, closing out the night we have Amine Edge & Dance up. I love the sound these guys create because it’s got that dirty, hip-hop, up-front banging housey sound. They’re smart to have them closing the night out when energy levels are getting low because when this two drop a track, there is no chance you’re sitting down, we danced till the very last track which was Basement Jaxx– ‘Red Alert’. Nostalgic!

Another sick one Defected, you guys have got the recipe. Best quality of music, people and vibes. Real house music!
