Bridges For Music returns for ADE 2024

Bridges For Music, the non-profit organization and record label, is gearing up for their annual 500 KM charity cycle this October at ADE 2024, continuing to spark social change through the power of music.
Each year, the ride brings together the dance music community in Amsterdam, showcasing its unique strength. It’s become one of the most highly anticipated charity events in the music industry, with past riders including big names like Richie Hawtin, Parallelle, Maga, Joris Voorn, Chris Lienbing, Pan-Pot, Juliet Fox, Jamiee, and more. Last year, over 50 cyclists from 15 different countries raised more than 70K to support Bridges For Music’s mission to uplift under-served youth in South Africa.
Powered by AlphaTheta and in partnership with ADE, all the funds raised will go towards expanding Bridges’ programs. This includes building a new facility for younger kids in need and supporting an after-school program for children aged 8-18, giving them access to creative education in music, dance, and mindfulness.
This year’s ride is upping the ante with a slightly tweaked route from London to Amsterdam. The four-stage journey kicks off on Sunday 13th October from the Resident Advisor HQ in Shoreditch and wraps up at ADE on Wednesday, October 16th, taking riders through the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Jamie Kemp, Director of Toolroom Records, captured the vibe perfectly: “Simply put this is a life-changing experience! I keep saying, I am not sure there is any other way I want to arrive at ADE…If you are thinking about doing it, just do it! You will be supported every km/mile/inch of the way.”
The ride also has a positive environmental impact—by cycling instead of flying, each rider will save about 175kg of CO2 emissions, meaning a total of at least 8,750kg of CO2 will be saved for the 50 participants. In exchange for supporting this cause and travelling to ADE with a smaller carbon footprint, riders will get an ADE Pro Pass, three nights of accommodation in spa hotels along the route, guides and support, luggage transport, meals, energy snacks, and an official ADE jersey. There’s also an option to send bikes back to London, with the £1,500 entry fee and fundraising included.
If you can’t commit to the full ride, no worries—you’re welcome to join halfway or for just one stage. Plus, no prior cycling experience is needed, and if you don’t have your own bike, rentals are available. Companies can also sponsor teams, with your team’s logo featured on the official ADE rider kit and throughout the event.
The ride is open to cyclists of all skill levels, with groups divided based on speeds of 30 km/h, 26 km/h, and 22 km/h. Support vehicles, expert cycle guides, and more will be available along the way. Last year, paramedics from the Tour De France were on hand, and each group was led by professional cyclists, including some from Team GB.
Keleigh Batchelor, Marketing Manager at AlphaTheta EMEA, shared, “It is our honor to sponsor the Bridges for Music cycle to ADE once again. Activities like this encourage participants to engage their physical and mental wellbeing – which can be very powerful and healing. Aligning these elements in a dynamic group fosters a sense of community, raises awareness, all while generating crucial funds for this incredibly transformative musical initiative. If you’ve ever been tempted, now is your chance, it will be the most fulfilling and exhilarating thing you will do this year!”
