Renegade Riddims: Natty Lou

Natty Lou is an up-and-coming Drum and Bass and Jungle DJ from Cardiff U.K. Although originally from South Wales, Natty Lou is based between the United Kingdom, Dubai and Hong Kong.

Natty Lou and her love for Drum & Bass began in 2008 whilst studying and living in Bristol. She was a member of dance troupe Bass Honeys and was often seen performing at Drum & Bass nights alongside the likes of Dillinja, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Sigma, Crissy Criss, Cyantific and more. Alongside DJing, Natty is a resident dancer for EDC Festival and has performed alongside DnB pioneers Roni Size & Andy C, as well as DJs Steve Aoki, Hardwell and Tiesto.

Natty Lou learnt how to DJ in 2018 from the co-founder of China’s largest Drum & Bass Label, Unchained Asia. Since 2020, Natty Lou has used Lockdown as an opportunity to take her DJing career further and is now a proud resident of Concrete Junglists, Limitless DnB, 1Luv DnB and Ladies of Rage Cardiff. Natty Lou recently played out at one of Shutdown Bristol’s sit-down raves at Lakota Gardens, she was invited on a Bloutopia show at Rough Tempo in Essex, and has a monthly residency at Goat Shed Studios West, Bristol. Natty Lou also has regular live-stream slots for Bloc2Bloc Radio, Whomp Central, Phase Records, Saturday Skankout and many more.

There’s no doubt that this woman is a grafter and has a mindset that will inevitably see her career progress rapidly. We at DNBDT HQ love watching her livestreams, they’re so full of energy and Natty Lou always has a look of pure love and excitement on her face, she clearly loves what she does.

Today, we welcome her to our Renegade Riddims series with a mix that is high energy from start to finish.
