Forum Birmingham is gearing up to celebrate 60 years of unforgettable music history in 2025 with an exciting series of events. Over 16 weeks starting in January, the venue will host more than 20 epic parties featuring big names like Fac 51 – The Hacienda, HE.SHE.THEY, DNB Allstars, LWE, Live Nation, and Sonny Fodera. Combining the best of the past, present, and future with cutting-edge concepts and top-tier tech, it’s a celebration you won’t want to miss. Forum has been a cornerstone of the city’s music scene for six decades. Relaunched in 2021 after major renovations, it now boasts a 3,500-capacity main room alongside Space 54—a cosy, standalone club with its own entrance and a hefty d&b audio sound system. Over the years, the venue has gone by many names, including The Ballroom, the Top Rank Suite, Hummingbird, Carling Academy, and O2 Academy. It’s hosted everyone from The Clash to The Beastie Boys, Nirvana to Bob Marley & The Wailers, Amy Winehouse, and Ed Sheeran.

“I’m extremely passionate about preserving Birmingham’s rich musical heritage and our work culminates with Forum Birmingham. It was my old stomping ground and helped shape my musical journey so to celebrate its 60 Year anniversary with this series of events is very special.” – Billy Chauhan of Global Venues

This anniversary season will be a proper mix of Birmingham’s rich musical heritage and fresh, forward-thinking energy. Expect a spotlight on emerging talent, some exciting new event concepts, and next-level sound tech, including d&b audiotechnik’s Soundscape system. This cutting-edge setup brings immersive audio with pinpoint accuracy—something you really need to hear to believe.

“We’re witnessing the systematic dismantling of the UK night-time economy so the success of Forum Birmingham should be celebrated as they approach their 60 Year milestone. Our industry is not just about entertainment; it’s about identity, community, and the economy so we must support the intrepid operators who keep these amazing venues open for future generations.” – Michael Kill – Vice President, International Nightlife Association (INA)

The first wave of events kicks off with Fac 51 – The Hacienda, the legendary acid house party that shaped the late ’80s and ’90s scene. Sonny Fodera will also take the stage, delivering his signature house tunes that have earned him millions of Spotify listeners and hits like ‘Somedays’ and ‘One Night’. Meanwhile, HE.SHE.THEY will bring its unique vibe, championing inclusivity and diversity with a killer underground soundtrack. You can also count on high-energy Drum & Bass from DNB Allstars, bass-heavy beats from Weird Science, and festival-level line-ups curated by Live Nation.

2025 at Forum Birmingham is shaping up to be something truly special. Don’t miss out—sign up now for updates on tickets and full line-ups! forumbirmingham.uk/signup

Following the release of their LP sampler ‘Pissed Up’, Forum now delivers the brand new sounds of their debut album as a project. ‘Symposium’ sets the tone for their burgeoning career together, one which they launched within the ProgRAM camp, a label which has spent ten years in the game and sits as the sister label of historic imprint RAM Records. It was only apt that they would use this name to drop their biggest body of work to date, with it symbolizing the start of Forum, although known under artist names such as The Clamps, Opsen and SKS, they’re certainly no strangers to the Drum & Bass genre.

The rumbling tones and homage to their home country ‘Jouvence’ kicks off proceedings, meanwhile ‘Tandoori’ with its guttural movements and ‘Steady State’ ft. Medic MC adds an urgency to the tracklist. The ebbing and flowing current of ‘Corruption’ comes out next, as ‘In My Mind’ continues the bass-heavy offerings, and ‘The Wegger’ with Cecil Hotel introduces you to another familiar ProgRAM name. ‘Every Step Define Me’, ‘Ohka’, the inclusion of the album’s sampler and ‘Medicine Device’ meanwhile continues the high production quality and cavernous bass riffs.

Finally, LaMeduza sets themselves as a featuring artist with ethereal vocals cutting through the grinding rhythms of ‘Mesmerise’, as ‘Summer Breeze’ changes the mood with a delivery which rolls between its lush layers. So once again, it’s time to get with the ProgRAM – alongside a brand new package which signifies the talent available within the label’s remit, exemplified for Forum’s forthcoming ‘Symposium’ album.

Today we premiere ‘Jouvence’ which you can check out below. The ‘Symposium’ LP drops this Friday 23rd September, make sure you grab a copy from here!

SKS is a key player in the Drum & Bass scene. A party organizer at Bikini, he started mixing Drum & Bass in 2001 in Toulouse. He was noticed for his eclectic selections and finest choice of promos and exclusives. He has played alongside some of the greatest artists of the genre such as Andy C, Noisia and DJ Marky. He has played in cities across the world including New York, Montreal, Quebec, London, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Bratislava, Hamburg, Ghent, Venice, Pula, Montpellier, Bordeaux and Lyon.

As a producer, his tracks have received great support from the scene and have been playlisted by Noisia, Audio, Ed Rush, Marcus Intalex and Rockwell to name a few.

In 2004 he founded the label Vandal Records which has released music by artists such as S.P.Y, Signs, Nymfo, Hyroglifics, Chromatic, Incognito, L 33, Zombie Cats, Lockjaw, Dj Chap, Level 2, Detail, Quadrant & Iris and Ed:it among others.

Since 2012, he has co-managed the label with Redeyes and together in 2014 they created the sub-label Vandal Limited which is dedicated to Liquid, Jungle and Future Beats.

These days, the label is going really strong. They have an LP due for release on 10th July, the 5th part in their ‘Modern Soul’ series. A whole load of artists have had their music added to the album including Phase & LaMeduza, Adred, Mark Dinimal, Invadhertz, Monty, Zero T & Villem and loads more.

With regards to Forum, there’s not much we can tell you as his identity is a secret…

Today we premiere SKS and Forum‘s contribution to the album ‘Stained Glass’. It is a glorious piece of rolling liquid that I absolutely love. My only wish…to hear it on a big system in a sunny park at a festival or a dark, sweaty rave.

Check out SKS & Forum ‘Stained Glass’ below and be sure to grab the album when it drops on 10th July from here
