Dust off your dancing boots and grab your glitter – Campo Sancho is back for another weekend of pure, unfiltered groove magic. From July 25-27 at Walkern Hall, Hertfordshire, the legendary Sancho Panza crew is bringing their boutique festival vibes to the countryside once again, with a fire lineup that blends house, disco, funk, soul, and a whole lotta love.

With Optimo, Crazy P, Luke Una, Tigerbalm, Aroop Roy, Grace Sands, Tia Cousins and a packed roster of party starters, this is shaping up to be one for the heads, the hips, and the heart.

Sancho Panza has been setting dancefloors alight since the early warehouse days, soundtracking sweaty, euphoric nights and defining proper underground dance culture. With a two-decade reign as Notting Hill Carnival’s go-to house music powerhouse, they’ve built a legacy of big vibes, even bigger basslines, and dancefloor moments that stick with you forever—and 2025 is no exception.

Still leading from the front, still throwing down with the best, and still serving up unforgettable festival energy, this year’s lineup is stacked, bringing legends, rising stars, and groove maestros together for another unmissable Campo Sancho session.

This year, they’re serving up a feast of selectors, featuring genre-bending Optimo, the ever-iconic Luke Una, disco-funk fusionists Crazy P, and the euphoric energy of Tigerbalm. Expect house, nu-disco, Balearic bangers, and everything in between from selectors like Grace Sands, Aroop Roy, and Tia Cousins, plus a stellar supporting cast, including Lisa Loud, Pete Herbert, Stuart Patterson, Sophie Lloyd, and Serge Santiago b2b David Parr (aka Stompa Phunk Sound System).

And because Campo Sancho isn’t just about the dancefloor, 2025 sees the introduction of “Upwoods”, a brand-new woodland escape curated by Listen Here, Camp Bliss, and Sancho Panza. Expect laid-back grooves, immersive performances, and plenty of cocktail-fueled toe-tapping from the likes of Aidy West, Emma Noble, Ronnie Turner, and Dan The Drum.

Family Friendly, Dancefloor Approved

It’s not just about the grown-ups getting their groove on – Campo Sancho has something for the little ravers too. Expect circus acts, kids’ discos (yes, with Lisa Loud on deck duties!), roaming performers, and a proper arts programme to keep the young ones entertained while the parents cut shapes.

Tickets Are Flying – Don’t Get FOMO

Tickets for Campo Sancho 2025 are moving fast, with Early Birds already nearly gone. Don’t be the mate that waits until the last minute and misses out – secure your spot now at campotickets.sanchopanza.org.

Once a year, deep in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside, there is an event, considered a small boutique festival by their own admission, Lost Village offer up “An otherworldly experience” four days of music, food and fun. My friends and I were lucky enough to attend Chapter IV this year and in the following, I will attempt to do the event justice.

Thursday and it’s a midday journey for me and mine, travelling up to Newark Northgate, where we would be taken on a boutique bus to the boutique camp entrance, that’s correct I did just say boutique. Lost Village offer up boutique camping for those who do not fancy pitching their own tents and after a slightly late opening time it was a fairly rapid move through security into boutique reception, after a quick check in at reception we were shown to our tent, one of many offerings in the boutique sanctuary, ours equipped with a clothes rack, electricity, a mirror and a spacious area with chairs, table and double bed inside, which granted would have been actually ideal had it not rained pretty much all weekend. The tent setup seemed somewhat ill equipped to deal with continuous rain, which is a shame because had this been in place and everything in the tent not been damp every morning it would have been amazing. Absolutely huge shout out to neighbours Dan and Guy for introducing us to the “Hairdryer” technique, warming and drying in one foul swoop!! One last gripe before moving onto the good bits (and there are lots of them) the internet was down, so contactless was out of the question which was a minor inconvenience to anyone looking to pay by card.

So onto the good stuff then, boutique camping offered up a really nice toilet setup alongside showers with hot running water, its own bar, coffee stand and food van, which was ideal, as queues outside were beyond unreasonable at the peak times of day.
Offering up an assortment of food ranging from pizza to Chinese food, from waffles to tea and crumpets, from burgers to burritos, there wasn’t much that Lost Village hadn’t thought of, a powerful setup for your “long stay” campers, the food quality was far above average especially when compared with some of the more, shall we say, main stream festivals available on the market. The entertainment was equally diverse, offering up everything from talks by DJs, through to comedians, axe throwing and archery. If none of that tickles your fancy then you can go make some jewellery at Forgers Lane, an area for the more creative types, looking to get in touch with nature and make some cool s**t, amazing stuff!

After getting a little crazy with the entertainment, you could always relax in the Spa, complete with massages and hot tubs looking over a lake.

Now that we have covered off a couple of bad points and the basics of food and entertainment let’s talk about the bit I love…. The music!!

Lost Village offers a diverse, stellar line up covering everything from 60s, 70s, 80s, disco, hip hop, house and techno, this festival is about creating an experience that will be a hard one to forget, on the line up you can catch the likes of The Black Madonna, Haai, Maribou State, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Ross from Friends, Four Tet, Mount Kimbie, Fatima, Saoirse, Mr Scruff, DJ Harvey and many more than I can list here.

So as you might have guessed already I didn’t really have time to see everyone so let me take you on my journey through the village that has been lost.

It’s around 7.30pm on Thursday and time for the crew to mobilise, the music offering is slim pickings for the early birds and having the choice of Artwork or The Black Madonna we decided to go with the latter. Heading over to the main stage, aptly named the burial ground, we make our way out of the camp and past the many food stalls, Honey Dijon is throwing down her trademark house come techno set, a brilliant DJ in high demand at the moment and rightly so! Honey is pure class, playing what she wants how she wants, she has the whole crowd bouncing along to her vibe, wolf whistles in time with the loops and cuts she is pulling from the mixer and dropping an edit of ‘Gypsy Woman’, the rain coming down lightly but no one caring, she is taking people away from the dreary weather and raising moods with some uplifting house cuts.

Then it’s time for my favourite DJ of the moment to step up, The Black Madonna, her sets are becoming somewhat legendary (if they aren’t considered this already), a regular at Panorama Bar The Black Madonna is truly a master of the DJ craft, her mixing is as diverse as they come, delivering thumping techno from the incredible sound system transitioning with ease through house techno and 80s music. Never have I seen a DJ consistently have the crowd in the palm of their hand as The Black Madonna, starting the set on something a little housey, it isn’t very long before the dirty distorted drums of techno take over, somewhere between tribal and industrial she walks a line not many are capable of, but it’s the closing 20 minutes of any Black Madonna set that shows you her true skill, flicking from techno into a breakbeat Drum and Bass breakdown she instantly grips the crowds attention, throwing in some disco cuts with 80s synth-heavy pop music, mixing genres and tracks that others would struggle to even conceive mixing together let alone attempting to do so and all off the cuff no less, ending on the original ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’ by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, classic, masterful, inspiring.

Friday is a fairly early outing and a chance to check out the other stages, now open for business. Lost Village offers an immersive experience, a Junkyard, a Forgotten Cabin and an Abandoned Chapel are just a few of the amazing settings for the DJs to bring the ravers into another world. The first DJs to really catch my attention were Optimo, residents at Sub Club in Scotland, a venue that doesn’t need much introduction, the energetic underground feel of their music clearly demonstrates why and possibly how their legendary night of the same name rose to fame, mixing house and techno with leftfield records this duo are an experience to behold, their driving techno beats rolling out between the trees of the forgotten cabin was something unexpected this early in the evening, towards the end breaking down Bronski Beat – ‘Small Town Boy’ in a way that could only shock and awe, the mastery these two have found together is as niche as it is creative.

Managing to catch a little bit of Mall Grab it was time for us to move on, we had heard through the grapevine (Massive big ups to Lauren and Anna you legends!!) that there would be some interesting secret sets being played on this night.
The secret sets at Lost Village happen in the Watchers Holt, a club within the festival itself, complete with queuing and security, we got there in time to catch HAAi b2b Daniel Avery, dropping some abstract deep seated techno flecked with the outer world sounds that are synonymous with Lost Village, dark acid basslines, distorted beats, somehow delivered in an intimate setting inside of a festival, astonishing!! Next up was The Black Madonna, able to be even more creative and diverse than she was at the main stage, this set a little more on par with the dark cutting edge techno of the Berghain, but enough has already been said about this wonderful lady.

Saturday then, first name on the teams agenda was OR:LA, the Irish girl is a star in her own right even though she is still on the rise. Driving her sets with fairly heavy techno this creative DJ caught the eye of Paul Rose AKA Scuba who really brought her through on the scene and it’s easy to see why, her depth in music choice playing an early set really affirmed why she is swiftly becoming an extremely sought after DJ, keeping it a little softer but still drawing on the bouncy tribal techno beats that get us grooving, her sound emanated out of the forgotten cabin, swiftly packing it out very early in the day.

Then it was on to Mr Scruff over at the abandoned chapel, playing a 3 hour set this vinyl crate digger showed us all what he was about, his sets are diverse and hard to describe, drawing from music he loves all I can really say that Mr Scruff is engaging and enigmatic, highly recommend this long time DJ genius.

Then it’s a short trek through the woods, back to the Forgotten Cabin in time to catch Helena Hauff. There is a lot to be said for female techno DJs at the moment, really stamping their mark on the scene which I’m a huge advocate of and Helena Hauff is certainly one of the best, producing on an analogue setup her tracks are stripped back and gritty, as are her sets, heavy drums, low driving bass flecked with abstract acid Helena is honestly at the cutting edge of Techno frequently traversing into what can only be categorised as “electro” her out worldly sound fitting in perfectly with the overall vibe of Lost Village. Easily setting the tone for the rest of the acts at the forgotten cabin, the light show working hand in hand with her abstract sounds to transport the listeners into another realm.

A quick break and a nip over to catch Peggy Gou, a great DJ who frankly dropped some of the best tech house I have heard all year, the Junkyard absolutely “going off” as they say, people are dancing on cars, in old baths and enjoying what Peggy has to offer up.

Then its back to the cabin for the rest of the evening and to Daniel Avery, a man whose DJ sets always deliver, the sun has gone and the blue and green light show – of the cabin radiates through the trees as Avery drops his no hold bars Techno, heavy, dark and in your face the cabin is really starting to fill up, the heavy distorted kicks dancing between the trees, acid bass rolling out and off into the forest. Letting up slightly toward the end of the set and moving into something a little more, spacey, shall we say Avery paths the way for Ben UFO.

Ben UFO, an act many visit the village to see shouldn’t need much introduction. A true DJs DJ, Ben UFOs rise to fame has been slower than some, his vinyl sets are as mythical as the man himself, eclectic and enigmatic doesn’t even begin to describe how Ben has refined the art form of DJing, playing what he likes, always off the cuff his skill behind the decks on a techno set are second to none. And I mean that. Having never produced to keep in touch with the reason he loves music, because it feels alien to him, Ben UFO is an apt name to describe him and his sets. His baseline of work stems from Techno but easily moves through breakbeats, Drum and Bass, acid and electro. Taking people on a musical journey the likes of which they likely have not experienced before dropping the old classic ‘Flat Beat’ by Mr Oizo, yes that’s correct, from the Levi advert, his DJing knows no bounds. A clear highlight of the festival and highly recommended. Ben UFO is a true selector and credit to the electronic music industry!

Unfortunately, after days of rain, to wake up to a cold rainy day on Sunday it was time for me to leave but not before witnessing the festival finale which included a procession down to the lake and fireworks, a truly perfect way to end my Lost Village experience. The crew packed up and shipped out back to London.

I highly recommend Lost Village to anyone looking for an experience outside the norm, with great production effort, amazing music and entertainment, definitely an experience that should be enjoyed by any festival goer!

Situated within the gardens of Houghton Hall, fabric resident and all round dance music boff, Craig Richards, returned to the site for the second instalment of one the UK’s most hotly anticipated music festivals. With a 24 hour music license throughout the weekend and a line-up craftily created by fabric’s veteran, it was no wonder that Houghton Festival sold out within minutes at the beginning of the year.

The lack of phone signal and stages set within the woods created an almost secret world within the festival, which meant that you could fully immerse yourself within the music and everything that the idyllic festival had to offer…

Although the rain began to pour as soon as we arrived, it didn’t taint the excitement that buzzed through the campsite as the sounds of the stages heightened as the evening drew closer.

The warm up to the weekend started with an exuberant live performance by indie electronic duo Red Axes, who played live at the Pavillion with a picturesque backdrop of the brightly lit lake behind them, which followed with an intimate experience over at the Warehouse stage, with a selection of tasty tunes by Cassy.

Friday morning brought with it the sun and the festival’s best line up for live acts, which included the likes of Robert Henke otherwise known as Monolake, who was expertly positioned in the middle of The Warehouse as the crowd surrounded him. The Munich born musician delivered an energetic and animated set, which was thrilling to watch as his infectious passion passed through the crowd. As further stages opened and welcomed the 24 hour license, the party fully kicked off with exquisite sets from Jane Fitz over at the magic carpet and Intergalactic Gary who played a fierce electro and techno set down at The Quarry.

Whispers of the secret stage had been uttered from the very beginning, with talk that you could only get to it by train as remembered from last year. However, this year the stage was easily accessible via a short walk through the campsite. If you didn’t get to go to Terminus, you would surely know about it by the second day in. Jane Fitz set at The Terminus was the talk of the festival with the crowd comparing the atmosphere to that of a “dreamland”.

Saturday afternoon was kicked off by Horse Meat Disco who played as the sun shone to a colourful crowd for five hours over at the Derren Smart Stage (named after the London Promoter who sadly passed away). Dropping classics such as “Stardust – music sounds better with you “ and Diana Ross – “No one gets the prize”, the crowd soon shook off Friday’s hangover. The festival not only offered an assembly of talented musicians, but it also provided hourly sculpture tours to explore Damien Hirst’s ‘Colour Space’ installations through the gardens and the chance to get involved with Yoga and Theatre over by the Orchard, which was a tempting pleasure if you wanted to rest your feet.

© Photography by Jake Davis for Here & Now (fb.com/wearehereandnow)

By far my favourite set of the weekend was from Optimo, who effortlessly weaved the likes of Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams” straight through to Boys Noize -” XTC (MMM remix)” at the 360 degree stage, The Clearing. The Scottish duo enchanted the crowd with their eclectic song choices which were mixed together through an array of genres through the woods, dropping California Dreamin’ Mammas and Pappas right through to Joey Negro rendition of Chic’s Everybody Dance. It was an electrifying moment and still is being frequently discussed on Facebook groups.

As Saturday night came to a close and Sunday morning was starting to appear there were tough decisions to be made as the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler and Binh all took to the various stages. Deciding to try my luck and try and see all, I ventured over to Ricardo, who used his wizardry skill and tantalizing choice of tracks to hypnotise the crowd. As he carefully controlled the tempo, manipulating the crowd with his choice of minimalistic tunes, the set seemed to blur all together as the sun glistened from the lake. Taking a break from Ricardo at one of the perfectly placed hammocks by the lake, Troxler was next on my list. As soon as you walk in through the tent, the humid atmosphere greets you as the crowd is tightly packed together. Troxler stood at the front as his funky electronic set weaved its way through the crowd, amplified by the compact space and enveloping the punters’ excitement, it brought pure joy through the field and was the perfect wake up to Sunday morning.

Without a doubt, Houghton Festival was a one of a kind that was attentively designed and created as the perfect advocate in the electronic music scene.

A staple favourite in the ‘boutique festival’ category, organisers at this years Farr Festival had yet again delivered an eclectic line up of some of the world’s leading Disc Jockey’s and musicians in electronic music, to the humble settings of Bygrave woods.

Right off the batt, a stand out set came on Thursday’s opening evening, with DJ Stingray’s slot at the Factory stage (must have been sweating under that balaclava mate). He masterfully controlled the mood, empowering the feet stomping crowds, as he dispatched a superb set of Acid house thumpers. It was also great to see the likes of DJ Seinfeld stood on the sidelines, with frequent nods of approval, as he overlooked the buzzing atmosphere that was displayed before him.

The Factory stage was a new addition to the festival last year. This year, however, organisers had introduced an extra day of music on the Sunday. The almighty stage, constructed by huge enclosing shipping containers, could accommodate a large number of people, which recycled a constant buzz between the walls. Chilean born and Bristol-based DJ Shanti Celeste closed the stage on Thursday night as she served up classic house anthems (tracks such as “Move your Body” by Expansions really brought out everyone’s most extravagant dance moves) allowing the audience to dance in harmony, as the night was brought to an end.

Over at the ‘Adventures in Success’ stage, nestled deep within the woods,Tamo Sumo (Panorama Bar resident) delivered an inducingly hypnotic set, perfectly warming up the crowds and setting the stage for the following two hours of Prosumer, who closed the nights antics with a spout of house, before diving into some gritty techno. Now that the main stages had shut up shop for the night, crowds had dissolved and reemerged at the Campfire Headphone stage where London based DJ Antepop produced an extensive set that carried through to the early hours of the morning. The intimate and dimly lit settings created a spacey atmosphere, perfect to shake off your remaining energy in a lackluster ‘2-step’ before it was time to hit the sack and recharge for the next day.

With the weather maintaining a scorching 29 to 30 degrees over the following days, the festival glistened within its picturesque settings. Throughout the day, punters could escape the heat, and explore various areas and activities in the arena, such as the House of Dinosaur tent, where daily activities such as Hip Hop yoga were held. There was also a great selection of boutique stalls and shops to rummage around at (a great selection of vintage pieces at the Simply Vintage stall) as well as food eateries to cure any hangover from the previous day.

Friday’s highlights included a more downtempo vibe within the early evening, with Tom Misch flawlessly performing his new album “Geography” followed by a live performance by Mount Kimbie. Other highlights included the likes of MR. G who effortlessly produced an outstanding set on his own curated stage Ma-Dahu and Call Super who’s set defined the evening as he distinctively carried the crowd through a mix of tidy but exuberant tracks. Likewise, headliners  Optimo b2b Young Marco similarly enthralled a four-hour set journeying through a range of classics and surprising the crowd. Young Marco spun a few Michael Jackson remix’s and then dropped some dub tracks, while the Scottish duo Optimo were spinning Jungle to Techno straight into the early hours.

Saturday’s spirits were heightened with the fact that England was playing in the quarter finals, setting the day up for intensified energy and excitement. Unfortunately there were limited tickets to watch the match at The Factory as it was on a first come first served basis and this left a sour taste in a few people’s mouths. However, due to England’s success, it was soon forgotten with an exceptional live performance from George Fitzgerald, who blissfully engaged the crowd with his new EP “All That Must Be”. Over at ‘The Shack’, the well positioned stage with its natural amphitheatre –  Dixon played one of the best sets for me. He listened to the atmosphere of the crowd and produced a high tempo electrifying set that amplified his eclectic music knowledge that brought grand emotions to the dancefloor. Hard to follow on from Dixon, resident De School DJ Job Jobse brought a more relaxed atmosphere to the dancefloor – journeying through a mix of funky disco edits through to high-tempo techno. By 2am on Saturday night the crowds are in full swing as they take full advantage of the carefully crafted line-up – with many burrowing deep within the magical woodland exploring Farr’s innovative instalments such as the hammocks and illuminating lights.

Revellers were treated to a further day of music on the Sunday, with a line-up of DJ’s that knew just how to bring the party to a close. The likes of Hunee, known for his eclectic choices and often up-tempo ‘good times’ disco set’s (as well as his bouncy energy behind the decks) were a great choice to bring the euphoric weekend to a close. Joined by the likes of Antal and Interstellar Funk, Farr fest organiser’s had yet again closed the book on another memorable weekend in the Hertfordshire countryside.

Love International is returning to the glorious, hedonistic location of The Garden Resort, Tisno for its third consecutive outing.  From 27th June until 4th July 2018 the gates will be open for one of the most idyllic festivals known to man to welcome like-minded music lovers. Having successfully incorporated a holiday with a festival over the last 2 years, this year promises to be unmissable!

As you would expect from the guys behind Love International, they have cultivated another amazing lineup with the first phase including Ben UFO, Craig Richards, Optimo, Roman Flugel, Move D, Joy Orbison, Avalon Emerson Shanti Celeste, Saoirse, Christophe and Dave Harvey – also Love International’s co-founder. More have already been announced and there are more reveals to come!

Tisno itself is home to some of the most beautiful scenery with its picture-postcard white-washed homes and charm by the bucket load, bordered by the shimmering Adriatic, the days stretch into the nights and back again with beatific ease, everything elongated, nothing hurried. The festival is set right on the gorgeous coast, a little slice of paradise far from the madding crowd, with its own beach and a real sense of intimacy.

“We believe we are attracting like-minded people to the festival – that’s the essence of what we want to create here. It’s developing a sense of community which everyone brings with them, and that feeling really comes through during the entire week.  We are again working with DJs and live performers who understand this too; many of them stay for as long as they can before and after they play. We are very proud to be bringing in some debut names to Tisno, as well as our old friends returning, and the first wave of names we feel is a great marker for how the complete billing will be looking early next year. At Love International we are honing our philosophy even further – it’s not always about the biggest DJs and artists, for us, it’s about having the best, whether right at the top of their game or part of the next taste-making generation. We can’t wait to have them over in Tisno to do their thing!” –  Co-founder, Tom Paine

Standard tickets are £135 for the week with club nights and boat parties extra.

Fractal Club has the perfect recipe to get you moving.

It seems that the long lost art of secret parties has somewhat subsided in recent times.  In lieu of huge warehouse raves with extensive production budgets and a myriad of world class acts.

So when I was offered the opportunity to head north of the border to Edinburgh and witness the Launch Party of Fractal Club, I grabbed it by the horns and with nothing more than a vague sense of who was playing and no idea about the city; I braved the long journey.

Edinburgh is no stranger to incredible nightlife. I had it on good authority that the guy behind Fractal Club had spent many years helping to sculpt what it has become today.  Having worked with nights such as Musika bringing a whole manner of heavyweights such as Ame, Seth Troxler and Carl Cox to the historical streets; as well as the expertly curated Nightvision which has played host to everyone from Groove Armada to Drum and Bass royalty Andy C.

The mystery was the first part of the fun; albeit a bold move by the promoters.  To expect punters to pay hard earned cash for a night where neither the artist nor the venue were common knowledge was ballsy… but I had faith.

Having spent the day being a tourist the anticipation was becoming too much.  By the time the lunch had come around, I’d “managed to guess” who was playing and soon after it was released.

Having spent her formative years as a resident at Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Chilean born Dinky was set to play her first set in Edinburgh – but speaking to the promoters they made it very clear that this was not through a lack of trying.

The night drew in and the location was also revealed.  The night was to be held in the loft above The Mash House, which draws in punters on the remarkable sound system alone. Having played host to the likes of Optimo and Prosumer in the past; the space above seemed like a great choice.

Upon arrival the space was filled with deep grooves and a familiar sound of the kick drum, with the night being started off by UNTITLED LDN Residents E.Wan and Chris G. Due to a forgotten USB the lads warmed up the crowd with an eclectic selection of vinyl such as Rozzo’s minimal groover “Nyota’.

As their set came to a close E.Wan dropped the funky afro inspired “Moov ya Booz’ by Jeremiah and it was through these dulcet tones the night came to its headliner, Dinky.  She played with such precision and so effortlessly that it was no surprise that she entranced the crowd long into the night with her the sweet sounds of techno.  Her set came to a serene climax in the form of Lapsley’s “Operator’ remixed by DJ Koze.  And if one tune could accurately embody the event this was it.

A night of funk and groove was enjoyed by all, Fractal Club had firmly cemented itself on its opening night as the new player in Edinburgh’s nightlife scene, and with the likes of Secretsundaze and Nick Hoppner taking up the reins into 2017 we only expect more from the team.

Croatia’s Love International began a brand new Adriatic odyssey in 2016 from the previous adventures of the Garden Festival.

They’ve just announced they are returning for its second season next year from Weds June 28th – Weds July 5th, and the first wave of names has just been revealed including The Black Madonna, Ben UFO, Palms Trax, Optimo, Craig Richards, Paranoid London, Jazzanova, HMD, Leon Vynehall and Mood II Swing. Support comes from Tim Sweeney, Honey Soundsystem, Honey Dijon, DJ Nature, Call Super, Eric Duncan, Felix Dickinson, Being, Gideon and Linkwood.

The highlights in the line-up for us are The Black Madonna with her segues from disco to techno with her inimitable energy, an infectious joy and a peerless ability to connect with the room; she is arguably the red-hottest name of 2016, Ben UFO who last year played back to back in Barbarella’s for one of the festival’s many incredible highlights.

Tickets are now on sale and many more names will be revealed in January, check out the website here: loveinternationalfestival.com
