The Mekanism releases ‘Beach House’ on Exploited

Share

Exploited boss Shir Khan’s ever-dependable Secret Gold series returns for its eleventh edition. Two very tasty tracks that will appeal to a wide range of discerning diggers.

For our premiere today, French genius The Mekanism kicks off with ‘Beach House’. A gentle summer jam that’s a world away from some of his more pumping material. Lilting acoustic guitar licks waft over thumping kicks and snappy percussion before funk-fuelled live bass and salsa-flavoured piano solos descend. The break drafts in touches of Afro-Latin percussion and hazy vocal snippets to complete a delightful soundtrack for a stroll across the sand. Come on in, the water’s lovely!

Completing the EP is Bas Roos, who continues his excellent form for the label with a collaboration alongside Guy Steve.
