Sami Kubu is Back with Deep Groover, ‘Senses’

After a 2 year hiatus from releases and bringing in 2022 with a bang, we are thrilled to announce that Sarni Kubu is back on DAZE with her deep and sensual groover, “Senses”.

Characterised by deep grooves, scattered percussion and a penchant for upbeat yet immersive House & Techno, Sami Kubu has been making some serious waves on the scene over the last few years, her sets as captivating as her intricate production work.

The story begins in Durban, South Africa where, from a young age, the region’s rich musical culture fans the flames for her future established interest. Fast forward to south London, the city where she grew up, where burgeoning music scenes and a vibrant nightlife shift a more dedicated focus into songwriting and composing under various monikers – never truly finding her voice. Then in 2012 following a move to Brighton, another of the UK’s clubbing hotspots, the Sami Kubu namesake was born and along with it her very own record labels Nightshift Records and DAZE.

Now, the labels and her productions have been grabbing the attention of electronic music enthusiasts and genre stalwarts alike, with support from Joseph Capriati, Agoria, Paco Osuna and Sam Divine to name a few. As well as her own labels she’s also seen releases on Natura Viva, Swerve Digital, ACID606-61, Digital: Groove Records, and KONNEQT.

From the get-go this track demands your attention with its breathy and atmospheric synth work, giving way and building to a chunky, infectious bassline that drives this track through its many twists and turns. The vocals wash over you and lure you in with their seductive nature, all the while the percussion and groove keeps true to Sami’s signature sound and keep you moving.

Expect this track to do some serious damage no matter what time or place it is played.
