Lockdown Recordings set to drop ‘Locked On’ EP3

Lockdown Recordings are a Bristol-based label who’ve been grafting to build a roster which stands up against those imprints who were established in the earlier days. Promoting the deeper side of the dance music spectrum, they’ve always adhered to the same paradigm; that’s to offer only forward-thinking, technical and rolling vibes for the heads.

Lockdown Recordings next release is the third instalment in their ‘Locked On’ EP series and includes tracks from Kolectiv, Defex, Zerosum and rising star Variate.
Stepping up for his Lockdown debut, newcomer Variate is another example of home-grown talent being brought through the Lockdown stable. ‘Youtman’ is an out and out dancefloor weapon and a big statement of what’s to come from this young producer. It’s clean minimal drums, dub samples and raw jump up bass vibes are guaranteed to smash up the dance.
After a recent run of releases with CIA and Rebel Music, London based maestros Kolectiv are back with the deep tech vibes of ‘Promise Me’. Vocal chops, gliding synthesis and trademark technical drum edits roll out with a classy minimal flow.
Next up Bristol-based Defex also returns to Lockdown off the back of a big release with Guidance, with the smooth technical halftime vibes of ‘Slumber’. Snappy rolling breaks, techy synth and bass stabs are blended perfectly with a touch of soul.
Rounding out the EP, Zerosum is also back after spending time working on the Red Sky project. His new solo offering, ‘Replica’ is a wholly original vibe, rolling percussive bass stabs keep this track bubbling, then the drop provides a wicked switch in the mix.
This is another quality EP from the Lockdown camp featuring established artists and more fresh talent.
