Black Barrel returns to Dispatch with ‘40% Vulgarity’ EP

Dispatch Recordings proudly presents the next chapter in the continued evolution of the Black Barrel sound. The ‘40% Vulgarity’ EP features four tracks of pure funk from this unique producer. Known for his impressive sound design and high-energy productions, the prolific Black Barrel continues to impress with every release.
Black Barrel began his journey under the banners of Dispatch, with his first album on the label a defining part of his rise as an artist. The Russian native has since proven his weight. And following a host of EPs and his debut album ‘Last Frontier’ in 2018, he’s now firmly established himself from newcomer to a frequent part of setlists across the Drum & Bass genre.
The title track of the new release ‘40% Vulgarity’ sets the tone for the whole EP – a rolling stepper punctuated with old skool rave stabs and edits that compliment his trademark sample-based chops and that infectious groove that fuels his productions. Next up ‘I Feel You’ continues with more tough beats and heavyweight bass. The appropriately titled ‘Russian Rolla’ packs an impactful, glitched out swing beat and the acidic, snarling bassline of ‘Turn Me On’ completes the EP in fine form.
Today we premiere ‘40% Volgarity’ which you can check out below. The EP dropped exclusively on Bandcamp and Beatport on 24th June and will be available everywhere from this Friday 8th July. Make sure you grab a copy for your collection from here!
