Making a bold statement on Carl Cox and Christopher Coe’s Awesome Soundwave is the UK live act and accomplished artist, Saytek.

His “Motifs From The New World” LP spans across ten tracks of futuristic and thunderous techno full of dynamite. Each of the tracks were all made live, which is quite some feat considering the calibre of the music in this package.

Saytek is a natural at creating innovative techno, house and acid using his vast knowledge of machines and studio hardware to strain the boundaries of the genres and meld them all together. His live sets are energetic and known for transforming the dancefloor into otherworldly atmospheres.

I chatted on Twitch recently too Saytek LIVE about the art of playing live on and making music live.

Doc Brown’s lifetime passion for music is both unmistakable in his productions and undeniable in his performances. Having experimented with MIDI programming and sequencing as a teenager. It wasn’t until moving to Miami and getting his hands on his first set of 1200s. He was able to link creating electronic music in the studio to his natural ability to rock a party.

Firmly rooted in the underground, Doc’s unique sound has crossover appeal and is demanded not only by well-informed dancefloors but international tastemakers as well. His bassline driven productions have come on a laundry list of notable labels: Lapsus Music, Go Deeva, Natura Viva, Cube Trax, PPMusic and HoTL, just to name a few.

In this video, Doc Brown joined me on Twitch for a Live Interview in my Music Talk series. Music Talk on Twitch happens on Monday & Wednesdays between 1pm and 4pm (UK). In this conversation we discussed his djing on twitch, he gives tips for streaming on the platform and how he’s navigated the current pandemic as a label owner.

SNOE’s co-founder Beth Lydi Demo Listening Session on Twitch https://datatransmission.co/news/snoes-co-founder-beth-lydi-demo-listening-session-on-twitch/ Thu, 11 Nov 2021 06:39:35 +0000 https://datatransmission.co/?p=64278 The post SNOE’s co-founder Beth Lydi Demo Listening Session on Twitch appeared first on Data Transmission.

SNOE’s co-founder Beth Lydi joins me for a Demo Listening Session on Twitch on Monday 15th August at 1pm (UK).

Born in Oslo, Beth’s curiosity has taken her around the entire world, and eventually, she ended up in Berlin. Although settled in this busy cultural city, her closeness with nature, the mountains, forest and the ocean is still a cornerstone of her existence. Her love for Norway takes her back more often than not.

A key motivation in her life is the discovery of new things, soaking up everything that makes her happy. She acknowledges the importance of appreciation, appreciation for everything good in life that makes you feel something.

This is probably a reason why she dives headfirst and with full force into new experiences, which that you can recognize when you see her interacting with music. Music is one of her biggest passions, and this has spread out to every aspect of her life.

Currently, she is the co-owner of SNOE which she co-runs with Andreas Henneberg – propelling her into the spotlight.

Her latest release comes as part of Burnheart Remixed, a project that sees German violinist and producer Johanna Burnheart further and more directly explores the underground club scene that has long influenced her work, with four incredible electronic artists providing brand new versions of tracks from her album.  Sitting somewhere between deep, hypnotic techno and visceral tech house, Beth’s remix of Johanna’s track Sisyphos is a dark and twisted delight, ripe for basement raves thanks to its raw beats, propulsive groove and head scrambling breakdown.

If you’d like to submit a demo for the label and Beth, then the form is open till Sunday 14th August – here.

The Brazilian born Turkey based producer bubbled to attention with impressive cuts on Ellum Audio, led by ‘The Rails’, before following up with his second release on Ellum, on Pig&Dan’s Elevate and Fur Coat’s Oddity imprint. A qualified sound engineer, the 25-year-old possesses a talent and distinct musical signature that belies his years. Music has been his passion from the early age of 7, while living with his uncle Maicon a.k.a Charcott who has played in many venues in the underground scene of the city of Sao paulo back in the 90s and early 00s.

His latest release “Somewhere EP” (grab it here) came out from Adam Beyer’s respected label Truesoul. Fred Lenix, surely is a rising talent taking his futuristic scene forward.

South Korean, Berlin-based DJ Peggy Gou kicks off Hyundai’s new H2U advocacy program on September 18th 2020 with a special Live Stream on YouTube.

With an avid fan base and clubs around the world vying for her to perform, Gou is required to travel a lot. But much like the majority of her generation, she is growing increasingly conscious of her carbon footprint – both on the road and even in the club. With the future in mind, Gou hopes that hydrogen, a pure and powerful element derived from the water of any source, can help provide cleaner and more sustainable mobility and environmental solutions.

Among these forward-thinking H2U ambassadors is South Korean, Berlin-based DJ Peggy Gou. As an internationally famous DJ, Gou travels often and is eager to find new solutions to assist with the transport of her equipment. In a Hyundai NEXO – a hydrogen-powered, zero-emission car – Gou takes us on a tour of Berlin, a city praised for its progressive culture and its hydrogen infrastructure. She is proud that a Korean brand has become a global pioneer for hydrogen technology and as she gears up for her Closed Club Tour – a visit to some of Berlin’s famed nightlife since their temporary shuttering Gou – wonders if hydrogen can help Berlin clubs reach their goal to become CO2 neutral by 2050.

As Berlin’s clubs remain locked down, Peggy Gou takes us behind closed doors for a special live set.

Recently, some hoax stories around Facebook clamping down on Live Streams from the 1st of October, appeared on the Internet. These shared stories, seem to be the original terms set out when the Live platform was introduced in 2018.

The original story included “You may not use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience … If you use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience for yourself or for others, your videos will be blocked and your page, profile or group may be deleted. This includes Live.”

Apologies from us for reporting it. We have done more digging and a source at Facebook has given us the actual ‘Updates and guidelines for including music in video’

The site states: “Music is a bonding force in normal times. During difficult and isolating times like this, we know it can be even more important. As social distancing has forced everyone to stay apart, more people have turned to Instagram and Facebook Live to stay connected with their communities. This rapid rise in usage has created a lot of good during this crisis – raising money for frontline workers and underserved communities, driving awareness of healthy habits, encouraging people to stay safe by staying home and bringing people together through new forms of entertainment. But it’s also highlighted some confusion across the community – especially around the use of recorded music in Live on both Facebook and Instagram. At its core, Live brings people together in a real-time and unproduced way. This has opened up new creative opportunities for many creators, artists and other public figures.

They continue “We want to encourage musical expression on our platforms while also ensuring that we uphold our agreements with rights holders. These agreements help protect the artists, songwriters and partners who are the cornerstone of the music community – and we’re grateful for how they’ve enabled the amazing creativity we’ve seen in this time.”

They are constantly improving the products at Facebook including the platform, Instagram and Whatsapp. They have said they the best ways to use music on the platform are in these manners.

  • There are no limits on things such as music in Stories, or traditional musical performances (e.g. filming a live artist or band performing).
  • The greater the number of full-length recorded tracks in a video, the more likely it may be limited (more below on what we mean by “limited”).
  • Shorter clips of music are recommended.
  • There should always be a visual component to your video; recorded audio should not be the primary purpose of the video.

You can read their full blog post here.
