Data Transmission is 15

Wow… Data Transmission is 15!

What an incredible adventure for the last 15 years from “how not to run a company” to building a globally known brand & covering some amazing music, DJs and producers.

I’m sure I’ve made every mistake…

We’ve seen interns & writers become some of the industries leading managers, party planners and social media experts.

A massive thanks to all the editors, writers and interns who have helped us over the years.

From having massive failures that nearly ended everything to building a massive network – which today really helps newer & rising artists on their journeys.

To starting a podcast which also turns 15 years old and has seen some of the biggest names over the years – to now having 5 in house series.

To launching a Soundcloud channel to it having 75 million streams which spawned 5 others and another 30 million streams.

To launching a Radio Show and which turning into a station – that today has 100s of hosts just last month had its biggest intake of new hosts in its history.

A massive thanks to all that have been involved in the radio project over the years.

Without all the learnings it wouldn’t be where it is today.

From finding one of house music’s brightest talents to building a fully-fledged course which is about to hit 100 members and working with over 300 DJs in my previous 1to1 series.

To all the lovely messages we get weekly of thanks for helping them or their music.

To all my industry friends who have supported our moves over the years and given me opportunities a big thanks!

We’ve signed some amazing music for our record labels for this year!

Which we are excited to drop a VERY special track today on Bandcamp by a talented producer called Jax Carter.  He dropped into one of my demo streams on Mondays on twitch and brought this track…. We signed it instantly for our label 63b – its title is “Data Transmission”!!!

I’m so excited about where we are with Data Transmission now!

I’m looking forward to this year, which has changed from “I wonder if we will make the next” to the excitement and looking forward.

Dance music media is in a strange place and it has been for a few years, I truly hope finds a better way of working for its long-term sustainability.

To my friends in the space that still continue to smash it a hat tip to you cos it’s hard for sure.

As ever we will continue to evolve, turn up, be consistent and roll with the punches.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
