A: My favourite tracks is “Game Off”, which is one of the tracks included in my EP on Beard Man called “Still Moving”.

A: “Still Moving EP” is my way of capturing that raw, unstoppable energy, the kind that keeps you going, no matter what. We’re excited to premiere ‘Money Transfer,’ the latest hypnotic techno cut from Luciano Esse’s ‘Still Moving’ EP, set to drop on 7th February 2025 via Beard Man. A seasoned DJ and producer with deep roots in the underground scene, Luciano Esse makes his debut on Mark Broom’s imprint with a dynamic five-track release that showcases his signature blend of deep, rolling grooves and raw, driving energy.

A standout from the EP, ‘Money Transfer’ is a stripped-back yet potent techno roller, delivering pulsating low-end, crisp percussion, and a relentless groove designed for peak-time warehouse sessions. With a career spanning decades across London, Milan, and Ibiza, Esse’s refined touch is evident here—balancing hypnotic tension with subtle, evolving textures to create a track that’s both immersive and floor-focused.

Esse’s journey through techno has seen him regularly at legendary venues like fabric, The End, Space Ibiza, and Guendalina, as well as co-founding the underground ZUM event series. His releases on Life & Death, Sleaze, Leftroom, and Trapez have established him as a force in the genre, and with ‘Still Moving’ marking his arrival on Beard Man, his forward-thinking approach continues to push boundaries.

Stream ‘Money Transfer’ now on Data Transmission, and get ready for the full ‘Still Moving’ EP release on 7th February 2025.

We premiered it on NUDE Techno, check it out here and grab it on Beatport!

We aren’t sure what it about Germany that allows the country to produce such a high volume of quality electronic music but there surely must be something to it.  The air? The water? Well, we can neither confirm or deny any theory regarding why the area is such a hotbed of creativity for electronic music but rather revel in Germanic cool. This weeks Podcast sees us head to back to the Fatherland as fast rising Berlin native Discrete Circuit serves up an hour long set of selections for our listening pleasure.

Having lit up 2015 with a series of stellar releases on the likes of Mistress and his own AWAY Music imprint, the East German producer looks set to maintain his momentum well into the coming year with the arrival of his ‘Redial’ EP on Mark Broom’s Beard Man label sure to be dominating dance floors upon its release having already picked up support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Laurent Garnier, Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Benjamin Damage, Rolando and Luke Slater.

Tipped for a big 12 months by pretty much anyway with a set of ears and penchant for Techno, remember where you heard about Discrete Circuit first…

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
The mix is full of all sorts of Techno cuts.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
H4L – ‘Sahara Pump Theory’

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
I just recorded it like I play DJ sets: spontaneous and intuitive.

What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?
January 2nd in Berlin, 4 hours back to back with Mark Broom.

What have you got coming up?
The Beard Man release, “Redial EP” which I am very proud of, is coming on January 22nd.  Then there is something on Wolfskuill, but I can’t say much about it yet.  And finally I am very happy that the second release on my own imprint AWAY music is on its way, which is inspired by the parties I organize in Berlin.  The release comes with remixes by Joe Claussell and Mr. Ties.  Very exciting and busy times ahead.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Lean back and enjoy the mix.

Label: Beard Man
Release Date:
Out Now

Mark Broom returns to his own Beard Man imprint, after the label took a brief moment of time out of the game, with his new work in the form of the ‘Neon EP’. Four dance floor ready cuts, each with Broom’s signature stamped firmly into their fabric make this EP very functional and ready for action.

When each track brings with it a personal glory, it makes it difficult to pin point a main attraction of the single. ‘M19’ carries a thread of dread in both its dub chords which form a strong foundation for the track and a sense of unease with its use of atmosphere. Opening an EP with such a track is a surefire way of letting on that you mean business. A title that most definitely defined its own name, ‘Energy’, reissues the dub chords with a heartened approach. The addition of well time vocal samples keep the momentum running nicely until the end on this one.

The title track ‘Neon’ has its pace set with a battery of Broom’s signature stabs before the percussive female vocal stabs come in to play. A voice so warm, that the small bursts of audibility cause a great impact and rush of energy. A simple but effective track, you know what you’re getting with this one. ‘Involver’ sees Broom edging away from his beloved dub chords and begins with a deep kick drum followed by some progressive analog work. The hook, a catchy one bar phrase, ignites the track as it grows in size and density as the track progresses. An enticing breakdown followed by some sonic chaos sees the track to a hectic finish. Peak time business.
