Camelphat release their debut album ‘Dark Matter’

Camelphat have released their highly anticipated debut album ‘Dark Matter’ via RCA UK.

In line with the release, Camelphat has also shared their new single ‘Easier’. The track features rising Lancaster band LOWES and is topped with the powerhouse vocals of frontwoman Evie Plumb. The single looks set to be one of the biggest dance tracks of 2020 with it’s progressive build and melancholic ambience.

‘Dark Matter’ showcases Camelphat’s sonic diversity, encompassing dance floor techno, sultry trip-hop, and the anthemic hits such as ‘Cola’, ‘Breathe’ and ‘Panic Room’ the pair have become so widely renowned for. Pulling in a host of A-list guest features as well as new and upcoming artists, ‘Dark Matter’ includes collaborations with the legendary Noel Gallagher, Jake Bugg, Yannis Philipakkis, Maverick Sabre as well as tracks with Skream, Eli & Fur and Will Easton.

We’ve been listening to it all weekend, ‘Dark Matter’ really pushes Camelphat in the upper realms of Electronic Music. This album for me is as good as albums from Deadmau5, The Chemical Brothers and Faithless. A timeless classic long-player which you will still listen to with all the energy of it just being released. This album is one of the biggest of year and a true masterpiece from our dear pals. Bravo to them for pulling this fine album together – stand out tracks for me include ‘Witching Hour’, ‘Keep Movin’ and ‘Blackbirds’.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
