The EBM-indebted techno funk of James Welsh’s ‘Thread’ gets a fresh lick of paint today in the form of three new remixes.

The trio of established, emerging and somewhat unexpected artists including Ozel AB, Radio Slave and an old Data Transmission fave FC Kahuna return to give three very different version of his track on Phantasy Sound. Ozel AB delivers his debut remix, reimagining ‘Thread’ to encompass a widescreen vision of depth and drama. On his ‘Garten’ remix, Radio Slave takes a percussive approach to the relatively raw electronics of the original track.

The surprise of the package is FC Kahuna, who have been off-the-map for some time, but makes a triumphant return with a distinctive, playful and digital-exclusive take on ‘Thread’ that adds effective tension, whistling rave kettles and otherworldly distortion.

Check them all out below, as we have the exclusive first play, today and grab a copy here.
