DT811 – Plastic Robots

Share

The duo, Plastic Robots comprised of Nando Scheffer and Daniel Queiroz has become one of Brazil’s brightest acts. Bringing colourful energies to their live performances and original productions, Plastic Robots have appeared on labels such as Mau5trap and Sink Or Swim, and collaborated with acts like Steve Darko, illusionize, House Divided, and more. In 2019, Plastic Robots made their Dirtybird debut with ‘Silent Fury’.

A dark and twisted two-track project, Plastic Robots’ ‘Nightmares’ EP arrives just in time for the spooky season. In collaboration with fellow Brazilian beatmaker Underlow, the titular track ‘Nightmares’ is a haunting tech-house heater.

Riddled with gritty basslines and serpentining melodies, ‘Nightmares’ is chilling from start to finish. Keeping in line, Plastic Robots’ solo offering ‘Armada’ spirals into a frenzy of deep bass stabs, wonky synth lines and crisp percussion for a spine-tingling 6 minutes.

Today, he joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or iTunes here.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

It’s hard to name just one song, as it has some music exclusives that haven’t been released yet. More ‘Armada’ and ‘Nightmares’ are special.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
In this mix, we brought a little of our identity, some exclusive songs from us and from artists we like.

Tell us about your next EP?
A rework of a song from 7 years ago with our friend Krash, the EP included 3 remixes, Underlow, Thomas Anthony and FlexB. And it’s coming out in November on our label, Warbeats Records.
