]]>The podcast arrives just as Black V Neck drop their latest single, ‘Check My Brain’, the first release celebrating Dirtybird Records’ 20th anniversary. Referencing their 2019 label hit ‘Sex, Drugs, Alcohol’, the new track blends tech-heavy builds, deep house breakdowns, and AI-twisted vocals—all wrapped up in the duo’s signature high-energy, hook-laden production.
“We felt we had to go back to our roots. This type of record is a mix of our bouncy basslines, catchy hooks, with a twist of freshness on the breakdown. We couldn’t think of a better label than Dirtybird which encompasses those three things.”
Black V Neck
Since first appearing on Dirtybird’s Birdfeed in 2018, Black V Neck have become mainstay artists on the label, delivering standout releases like the ‘Mouth Music EP’ (2019) and ‘Bounce EP’ (2020). Now, as they return to the label for its milestone anniversary, they’re also gearing up for a massive year—including a performance at Dirtybird’s upcoming show at The Den in Portland on February 8th.

]]>Fresh off the hype of headlining Dirtybird’s epic ‘Back To Baysics’ event at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Plaza, Robotti’s new track isn’t just here to play—it’s here to dominate dance floors from SF to the cosmos. Premiered to a wild crowd of over 10,000 fans, ‘Roll With Me’ has already proven it’s a hyperactive groove machine, and trust us, this one’s here to stay.
With Owens’ smooth vocals asking the crucial question, “Do you really want to roll with me tonight?” (yes, we do), this track pulses with playful basslines, punchy kicks, and just the right amount of cheeky attitude.
Robotti weaves in zippy synths and thick bass drops that make ‘Roll With Me’ the kind of tune you’ll be humming long after the lights come on. It’s built for those peak moments, a true crowd-pleaser set to be a highlight of every DJ set it lands in this fall.
And let’s talk Robotti—this guy’s been holding it down in the house and techno world for nearly two decades, bringing his unmistakable vibe from the Berlin underground to festivals like Burning Man, CRSSD, and EDC. No stranger to the Dirtybird fam, he’s served up heat with releases like Loca Lola and Melato Nina, plus bangers with Kevin Knapp and Kill Frenzy. ]]>Instantly kicking into high gear, Andrea Giudice doesn’t hold back with his electrifying grooves and relentless rhythms. Fueled with deep-tech energy, ‘Dragon’ commands attention as Giudice unleashes zippering synths and snappy percussion around the feisty vocal sample. An impressive offering from the rising artist, ‘Dragon’ is a magnetizing heater set to take over underground dancefloors worldwide.
“For this release, I wanted to bring together the ideas of having a fat bass that moves nicely, as well as percussion parts that can provide a little of that Latin rhythm to match the vocal, so I collaborated with one of the singers I work with here to give the track that intensity and exact footprint. Almost all of the sounds were built using my own synths, such as the Minimoog Voyager for the fat baseline, the Korg MS 20 for a synth sequence that can raise the track to a particular level, and the drums using my kit instruments, followed by a little magic and art to finish.” – Andrea Giudice
Andrea Giudice is an underground European sensation, quickly earning praise with his party-centric DJ sets and skilled production that plays on his roots as a jazz pianist. A whizz on the synth, Andrea’s soaring leads, pumping beats and true carnival spirit has captured the attention of many, with frequent support from tech-house icons like The Martinez Brothers, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Marco Carola to name a few.
New to the flock, Andrea Giudice made his first Dirtybird sub-label appearance with ‘Lifestyle’, which earned a spot on the Best of the Birdfeed (Vol. 4) compilation earlier this year. Buy / Stream ‘Dragon’https://dirtybird.fanlink.tv/dragon

Mixing groovy minimal with elegant tech house, blended all together in this mix, creates an overall style that is not easy to find in other DJ mixes.
Tell us about your next release ‘Dragon’?
My next release Dragon comes from a desire to create something fresh and unique, which I would loved to play in the club. Mixing the sounds I create in my studio with the voice of a Chilean singer with whom I was able collaborate providing the warmth and energy I needed to make this tune.

]]>The post Ed Hoffman and Barbara combine on ‘Feet Money’ on Dirtybird appeared first on Data Transmission.
]]>While diverse in his repertoire, Ed’s sound is grounded in his ability to bring his distinct flavour of energy to each track he writes, harnessing unmistakable childlike energy that evokes equal parts self-confidence and silliness. It’s that liberating feeling you get when you’ve released yourself from the shackles of expectations, and being able to express your true, inner colours without fear of judgment. For the San Francisco-based DJ/Producer, community is half of the equation, and what drives him to inspire and help as many future artists to also pursue their dreams.
Ed has released music on Fantastic Voyage, Data Transmission, OFDM, Bomb Ass House, Schmuzik Records and Wildcard Records. He also runs a monthly radio show, which is syndicated on Data Transmission, called ‘House of Ed’.
The artist known as Barbara is a multi-hyphenate and when exploring her musical work it’s a true “choose your own adventure” – you can select one or several paths to join her journey. As a DJ and performer, she began her career several years ago splitting her time between New York City and San Francisco, beaming her love of deep house, Italo disco, tech house, and progressive house out on to dancefloors, and exposing audiences to new underground cuts and rare classics. After some recent sets, Barbara’s energy can still be felt in the following venues: in NYC – Super Ingredients, Elsewhere, Laissez Faire – in SF, for Midway’s New Years Weekend festival, Fresh Start, and in Milan Italy at Linea Milano and East Market. Her sets infuse her ever-growing catalogue of released and unreleased Barbara productions, and many of her appearances also include a live vocal performance of songs. She’s never static, always moving through dance and broad smiles during her sets.
“While on our shopping session, my best friend tried on this insanely stunning vintage YSL fur coat, way out of our price range and we all were like “gurrrrl you neeed that feet money”. I sat down with Ed as soon I got back from the trip and Feet Money was born.”
Barbara
The track in true Ed and Barbara style is bouncy and sassy with cheeky lyrics inspired by true life events and a driving kick and bass, placing itself right at home within the Dirtybird sound. Prepare yourself for a punchy warehouse-focused offering that is set to kick off the new year in fine form.

]]>The post RYBO Remixes Lubelski’s ‘Diffuser’ via DIRTYBIRD appeared first on Data Transmission.
]]>Now Lubelski shifts his attention to curating the Happy Accidents Remix LP with the same care and rejection of the rules that the original represented. He’s tapped some of his foremost inspirations like Roman Flugel and Skream, underground icons du jour Nikki Nair, AK Sports, and Black Loops, super-risers Yulia Niko, Maxinne, and Mary Droppinz, plus some of his best buds in the studio and beyond like PILO, Troy Kurtz, Danny Golliger, RYBO, Whereisfenix, and Red Eye.
This is the type of multi-genre, no holds barred, smack-you-over-the-head curation that anyone who’s caught a Lubelski set over the last year knows well. Fun, credible and creative – it’s a party baby.
If there’s anyone who knows how to throw the dance floor into complete mayhem, it’s Los Angeles-based DJ RYBO. The young, up-and-coming house prodigy has been a staple member of the Desert Hearts family for the past few years, taking part in not only the festival itself, but also a number of one-off parties, showcases, and City Hearts tour stops. With every performance, his reputation proceeds him as he’s able to bring forth a legendary amount of energy and infectious spirit behind the decks that are primed for late-night debauchery. The artist has also collaborated on a number of tracks with underground house talents Anabel Englund, Mikey Lion, Kevin Anderson and Matt Ossentjuk. With more performances and music in sight, expect to see RYBO elevating himself to new heights in the months to come.
“Lubelski and I are longtime friends, business partners and creators. It’s been nothing but fun and a really unique creative relationship between our production styles. I was super stoked when asked me to remix ‘Diffuser’ as it’s one of my favorite tracks off his album. I took a minimal approach on my remix adding a new bassline and keeping his modular riffs the centerpiece of the track.”
RYBO
RYBO was a fan and supporter of the original, and a natural fit to contribute to the remix album. You can check out RYBO remix on Data Transmission and grab the whole remix album here.

Riddled with gritty basslines and serpentining melodies, ‘Nightmares’ is chilling from start to finish. Keeping in line, Plastic Robots’ solo offering ‘Armada’ spirals into a frenzy of deep bass stabs, wonky synth lines and crisp percussion for a spine-tingling 6 minutes.

]]>Embracing their unique deep house sound, ‘Stay Strong’ lives comfortably on festival main stages and underground dance floors. Its titular track is an intricate soundscape complimented by layered synths and textured percussive elements. The companion track, ‘In Your Eyes,’ strikes a different tone with its rhythmic breakbeat nature. Ready to leave their mark on the Dirtybird flock, ‘Stay Strong’ arrives ahead of Audiojack’s upcoming debut at Dirtybird Campout this October.
Regarding the EP, Audiojack said, “We made these tracks as the pandemic restrictions were lifting and there was light at the end of the tunnel. We imagined how good it would feel to play loud music again to people who were full of joy and relief at being free again, and we tried to encapsulate that feeling in the music.”
Following the release of their second album, ‘Surface Tension’, Audiojack are entering what might be called the major phase of their career. This, of course, is not to diminish the solid reputation they have built over the last fifteen years as DJs, producers, remixers and label curators with original releases on labels like Crosstown Rebels, 2020Vision and Hot Creations, remixes on labels including Moon Harbour, B-Pitch Control and Diynamic, and artists like Underworld, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 who have enlisted their talents for remixes.

]]>Her knowledge of deep house, indie dance, electro, and breaks made her a versatile and compelling choice for the local market and helped establish her “as one of Miami’s top female DJs and certainly an act making some serious strides on the circuit.” (EARMILK)
Her positive attitude and infectious DJ style recently caught the attention of Dirtybird Records’ founder, Claude VonStroke, who now actively manages her career.
Currently, Nala is a hardworking member of the Los Angeles electronic music scene and a resident DJ at the notable after-hours event series, Lights Down Low. Dancing and partying my way through a crumbling American democracy
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
I really like the Close to Custom track. I’m not one to play a lot of minimal, but he hits all the right spots. His sampling is tasteful and his bass has a great groove to it.
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
The special ingredient is the lack of purity. It covers many subgenres of dance music, which is definitely my style. I am not a purist by any means.
Tell us about your next EP?
My next EP is with Miami-based producer E.R.N.E.S.T.O and it’s the first release on my own label imprint, Mi Domina. E.R.N.E.S.T.O is a wildly talented producer and a really great person, which is a prerequisite for me. I don’t work with disrespectful people. I’ve featured two of the songs in this mix. It’s out July 13th!
What have you got coming up?
Got a lot of U.S. and Canada shows this year, so I’ll be touring and writing as much music as possible between dates. I’m working on coming to Australia, the UK, and the EU within the next year! My goal at the moment is to see as much of the world as possible.

After 17 years of releasing music, Dirtybird Records has put out an extensive range of genres and styles, including creating some of their own. Marking the label’s second compilation of 2022, ‘Heavy Heaters’ strikes a different tone than its predecessor ‘Deep Cutz’. Exploring the experimental side of techno and house music, Dirtybird has selected the edgier sounds from its catalog for ‘Heavy Heaters’, music made for a dark room, massive stage, dank warehouse or sweaty underground.
The compilation kicks off with an exclusive, previously unreleased edit of Claude VonStroke and EPROM’s 2018 collaboration ‘Grenade’. The Detroit edit offers a shorter break and sets the tone for the compilation.
Dirtybird invites you to explore its edgier side. Whether it’s the first time your ears have heard these cuts, or you’re rediscovering old favorites, turn the lights down and turn the volume up.
