Undoubtedly two of the most exciting next-gen producers making moves in Drum & Bass of late, Pola & Bryson have shot onto the scene with their own carefully sculpted brand of melodic electronic music that centres around a stripped-back, organic sound palette. The massive success of ‘Complete’, ‘Tell You What I Did ft. Zitah’ and ‘Into The Night’ in 2022 have now been followed by a feature on dance music superstar Sub Focus’ latest album and their recent collaboration with Emily Makis’ Phoneline’. The latter has already cemented itself as their biggest release to date, picking up immense streaming and radio support and being dubbed by many as ‘2023’s D&B anthem’.
The duo are set to feature at this year’s MADE Festival this Saturday (29th July), joining the likes of Dimension, Hybrid Minds, Danny Byrd, S.P.Y, Charlie Tee and many more sought-after Drum & Bass talents at Birmingham’s Digbeth Triangle. Since debuting in 2014, MADE Festival has become a cultural institution in the Midlands. Initially based in inner-city Birmingham, the event has moved across several regional venues.
Featuring the usual blend of the region’s finest street food, street art displays, installations and live demonstrations, as well as world-class DJs and live acts, the 2023 festival is set to celebrate its ninth year with the biggest and most exciting production to date.
Ahead of their set at MADE Festival, Pola & Bryson are on hand to serve up a selection of their favourite D&B heaters:
Sub Focus – Alarm ft. MC ID
This tune has been making regular appearances in our sets for months now – it’s such a great tune to double drop with and sonically stands out amongst many others.
Pola & Bryson – Tell You What I Did ft. Zitah
A great one to sing along to with the crowd, it always gets everyone moving and provides plenty of ‘hands in the air’ moments.
The Prodigy – Breathe (Camo & Krooked & Mefjus Remix)
A certified weapon and anthem all rolled into one – it never fails to go off with a festival crowd no matter where in the world you might be.
Riton & Kah-Lo – Fake I.D (Pola & Bryson Remix)
Been playing this one out for a few months now and have been getting a lot of love on it – shaping up to be a bit of a percy festival dub for us.
Technimatic – Clockwise
This has always been a summer festival kind of track for us for years now. Along with a handful of other Technimatic classics, it just has that uplifting summery feel to it that we love.
Pola & Bryson & Emily Makis – Phoneline
Would be pretty weird for us to not be playing this one out every week, tbh – it’s been nuts hearing seas of people screaming the words back to us no matter where we are. Huge love to Emily for her insane performance on this one – Thanks x
Culture Shock – Deconstruct
Culture Shock has always been a firm favourite of ours, and whenever we fall in love with one of his tracks, it swiftly becomes solidified into our sets forever. The insanely euphoric 2nd drop makes it a belter to mix as well.
Sub Focus & Wilkinson – Just Hold On (Pola & Bryson VS Sub Focus & Wilkinson Remix)
As well as being impossible to miss in our playlists, what with having arguably the longest title of any track on our USBs, the euphoria you feel when you hear Vula’s gorgeous vocals makes it a no-brainer for the summer festival sets.
