After two successful years, the electronic music festival Into the Valley takes a giant step, establishing six new festivals. One in Sweden and five internationally with all six new festivals established by 2019.
Into the Valley got great attention and its most certainly on our list of festivals to attend for 2017 , it was listed as one of the top festivals all over the world as well as attracted visitors from the US to Asia.
By expanding the concept with five more festivals including “Into the Factory” in Nynäshamn, Sweden and “Into the Castle” in Cape Town are revealed.
Into the Valley
In a major change in development, Into the Valley moves from Dalhalla (Rättvik), to Rummu in Estonia, 29th June to 1st July 2017. Rummu is a mythical limestone quarry and also the site of an abandoned prison. Green fields and crystal clear water enclosing a small white sand beach surround the place. The move to Rummu stemmed partly from the fact that the festival has outgrown Dalhalla in terms of accommodation for visitors, but also because the Into The Valley project always had the ambition to evolve and change in order to be kept alive.
Into the Factory
Into the Factory will take place from the 10th until 12th August 2017, just outside Stockholm, in Nynashamn. The site is called Stora Vika, and it’s an old abandoned cement factory, close to a stream in the middle of the forest. The fact that it is an industrial area with rustic facilities gives it a very special, desolate and rough feeling. The place also offers new opportunities for development, since it’s isolated in the middle of the wild nature, yet close to both Nynashamn and Stockholm.
Into the Castle
Into the Castle, will take place 26th to 27th January 2018 in the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, South Africa. Cape Town is a super exciting city, constantly evolving and with a truly multicultural population. Electronic music is on the rise and the time is ripe for a sophisticated festival concept. The venue is an XVIIth century star fort built by the Dutch East India Company, and it´s the oldest existing colonial building in Cape Town, located right in the city. History buffs will remember the site as the prison from which Frederick “Fritz” Joubert Duquesne aka “The Duke”, the spy, adventurer and journalist who tried to assassinate Lord Kitchener, tried to escape by his handy use of a spoon.
