Each week we will be sharing our top 5 plugins to help set up your production to its fullest. This will include Drum Machines, Synthesisers, Mastering Tools And Many More..
1. Big Kick
How many hours have you wasted searching through samples for the right kick? Or have you layered kick drums together and still not got the result you were after? Do you want complete flexibility over the low end and attack of your kick? The drums are the rhythm and groove of any track. And, the kick drum is the heartbeat of that groove. So you know how important it is to get the kick drum right in the mix. Big Kick was created with the sole intention of allowing you to achieve the results you have always wanted.
2. Falcon
Falcon version 1.2 is a free update delivering new and updated modules, new factory presets and enhanced functionality. 3 new effects have been added including Phasor, an automatic variable 12-order phaser, Phasor Filter, a manual version of Phasor, and Diode Clipper, a circuit-modeled clipper effect. A number of existing modules have been updated including IRCAM Stretch oscillator now with a Remix section allowing discrete mixing of the harmonic, noise and transient signal components, Dual Delay effect now with adjustable Mod Channel Offset and a Peak EQ built into the Feedback circuit, Xpander Filter now with a Thickness control and selectable algorithms, and Rotary and Tilt effects now with improved UIs. Falcon 1.2 also includes 100 newly crafted factory presets.
3. Quadravox Pitch Shifter by Eventide
Quadravox is a unique composition tool designed to inspire songwriting, stack harmonies, widen instruments and offers creative innovative rhythmic sequences. With Quadravox, you can take any incoming tones, including drums, and generate up to four voices based on the chosen key and timing interval. It’s optimized for multiple instances so your tracks can interact with each other by way of beautiful harmonies and groovy sequences.
Quadravox controls are intuitive, allowing you to quickly adjust parameters or type in values. Each of the four voices can be independently manipulated by level, panning, delay time with feedback, and pitch, including the type of musical interval. The effect can even be sync’d to your DAW tempo for killer, melodic, rhythmic delays.
4. Modular Synth by Softube
Created in close collaboration with Doepfer, Softube Modular gives you both the sound, flexibility and expandability of a true analog modular synthesizer. But Softube Modular is more than just another virtual synthesizer plug-in—it’s an entirely new modular synth standard.
As a Modular owner, the basic system gives you a great toolkit to start out with. It includes six modeled Doepfer modules and over 20 utility modules. But there is much more to discover. Additional modules from quality Eurorack vendors—starting with a range of units from cutting-edge manufacturer Intellijel—are available for separate purchase. More modules will continuously be made available. Owners of Softube’s drum synth Heartbeat can add its instrument and EQ modules to Modular and combine them with any other modules. Softube’s award-winning engineering team have modeled each analog module, component by component, and the resulting plug-ins are sonically indistinguishable from their hardware counterparts.
5. MH TransientControl
TransientControl is a plug-in that allows you to modify dynamics in ways that just aren’t possible with traditional compressors. You can directly change the transient (“attack”) and sustain of your audio; this allows you to make your tracks more punchy, or smooth them out so they sit in a mix.
TransientControl analyzes your audio and distinguishes between the onset of sounds (the attack), the sustain of sounds and the decay of sounds (the release). With three gain controls you can dial in the relative level of these three elements of the sound.
TransientControl can enhance the attacks of finger-picked guitar, or mute the attack of strumming. Use it to make an instrument sit in the mix or pop out. Control the snap of a snare without affecting the ring. Even use it to change the feel of a percussion pattern.
TransientControl does its magic in real-time with no latency, so you can use it for mixing and live.
