nozstock

Ancient folk were big on their prophecies — Ragnarök, 2012, the second coming of Christ, you name it… While we all wait with baited breath to see which of their apocalyptic predictions come true,  at Noz HQ they’ve been cooking up a prophecy of their own…

Legends tell of a DJ whose ability to keep a crowd moving to the wee small hours was unparalleled, whose turntable wizardry surpassed all others – a talent to be discovered by Data Transmission as the winner of our DJ Noz competition. This DJ will ascend to the heady heights of the Cubicles at Nozstock 2016 to appease the hoards of bass-hungry revellers, taking their rightful place on a line-up alongside such heavyweights as Friction, Goldie, and The Prototypes, to name but a few.

Competition was stiff, but we are pleased as punch to be able to reveal Malaney Blaze as the Once and Future DJ. Nottingham-born Malaney Blaze aka. Daniel Neal has a background in ska drumming which honed his ear for rhythm from an early age, as well as DJing hip hop and electronic vinyl. Somewhere along the line he landed on drum ‘n’ bass as his raison d’etre, but has never abandoned the eclectic genres of his youth.

As the winner of our DJ Noz competition, Malaney Blaze wins a Friday set in the Cubicles at this year’s festival, as well as some free tickets, fine winin’ and dinin’ backstage with the artist liaison crew, and an exclusive interview with Data Transmission. Check out his winning competition mix for a taste of what’s to come in just a few short weeks – fate has decreed that we’ll see you there…
