Issey Cross has rightfully placed herself as one of the dance world’s most exciting new talents. The singer-songwriter has been smashing it with her effervescent falsetto set to raucous 175 bpm drum ‘n’ bass. Notably on 3 crossover UK Top 40 chart hits, including ‘I Could Get Used To This’ with Wilkinson, ‘Oh My’ with Luude and Moby, and her No.19 debut solo, ‘Bittersweet Goodbye’.

Issey’s vivacious spirit has earned her the intrigue of bass lovers and pop connoisseurs alike. 2024 was packed with live dates spanning a debut tour of New Zealand and Australia, performing in front of 15,000 partygoers at Shy FX and Wilkinson’s takeover at Drumsheds, and a main stage appearance at the mammoth MADE Festival 10th anniversary.

Issey Cross will perform at Rise Festival’s 10th anniversary

Festival season isn’t over yet for the young talent with the ever-changing hair colour. Issey Cross now prepares to head to the French Alps for Rise Festival’s 10th birthday bash where thousands of ravers are in for treat of global DJ talent – Sammy Virji, Chase & Status and Hedex to name a few – and a week of snow, music and adventure.

Ahead of the event, we caught up with Issey to ask what tracks have soundtracked her year and what would make the ultimate apres-ski playlist. Find out her choices below.

K Motionz & Songer – Beamin’

This song is so fun to listen to and just gets me hyped up to go outtttt!

KETTAMA – Pretty Green Eyes (Sunset Ibiza Mix)

This song reminds me of good times in the summer with friends hanging round the pool in Ibiza.

Fred again.. x The Japanese House x Scott Hardkiss – backseat

This makes me feel sad and happy at the same time. I love songs that give you that feeling. Also, I love The Japanese House! I remember listening to this on the way back from a show this summer and looking out the window reflecting on how much has happened this year.

BL3SS x CamrinWatsin- Kisses (feat. Bbyclose)

I find this song sooo fun to listen to and it’s so catchy! Banger.

Monrroe & Emily Makis – Never Too Old (Friction Remix)

This one really takes me away in my mind and feels so euphoric to listen to. Every time I hear it, it makes me wanna scream the words!

Nia Archives – Cards On The Table

I bloody love Nia. Such a big inspiration to me as a woman and I absolutely how artistic this song feels to me.

Sammy Virgi – If U Need It

I heard this song played everywhere this summer at festivals and it still pops off now. Love Sammy.

Joy Orbison – flight fm

Something about this song is so satisfying. I was quite late to hearing it, but I remember being on the way to a festival driving past Stonehenge and saying to the driver, turn this upppp!

Charli xcx – Sympathy is a knife

For some reason this song feels so nostalgic to me and gets me in my feels.

Issey Cross – Sleepwalking (feat. Songer)

I love this song as I wrote it about a hard time in my life so it’s one of my more emotional songs that I love performing live. It’s also been so fun performing it along with Songer this summer at festivals.

Rise Festival has announced its phase 1 lineup as it prepares to celebrate its huge 10th anniversary as the ‘party on top of the world’.

The world’s biggest independent ski festival has delivered a lineup drop that underlines its status. The first headline act for an unmissable set in the snow is Chase & Status making a welcome return to the Rise main stage.

Also heading to Les 2 Alpes in France from 7th – 14th December, are Gorgon City, Hannah Laing, Sammy Virji, blk., Ewan McVicar, and Bou. Arielle Free (BBC Radio 1) lines up to celebrate 10 years of Rise with a one-off ‘Freeze Your Mind’ party, with more big performances incoming from Black Traffic, Badger, [IVY] and Issey Cross. With more exciting announcements to come, Rise is the ultimate way to round off the year – a high-octane mix of unrivalled skiing, quality music, and unforgettable parties.

Rise Festival opens the Winter Ski Season every year and welcomes an up-for-it, global community of like-minded party people (over 48 countries in 2023). From skiing beginners to seasoned snowboarders, through to those just there for the music, parties, and views, this year will be the best yet as everyone gathers for 10 years of Rise and an adventure that brings the world’s best electronic music artists to a stunning, snow-covered village to play across three main stages (two outdoor), five indoor venues, and one transformed warehouse – the ultimate afterparty space.

Rise Festival guarantees hard-to-believe moments, like raving 3000m up a mountain, paragliding through the Alps, partying around the fire pits, relaxing in the spa, and more. Even the food is special at Rise with a wide range of delicious options on offer and some unforgettable experiences such as; Lunch In The Clouds – on the terrace of Michelin Guide restaurant Le Diable Au Coeur 2400m high with incredible mountain views; Summit Supper – taking the lift to the top of the mountain to enjoy a tempting dinner at Le Diable Au Coeur and spectacular twilight views; and Hommage Du Fromage – an unmissable mix of cheesy music and traditional French cheese. Guests can sing along as they enjoy moreish fondue or raclette with charcuterie and plenty of vino.

There’s nothing like enjoying a day of the best mountain skiing followed by a night of food, parties and fun, soundtracked by an array of world-beating DJ talent.

Chase & Status have had an incredible year, winning a BRIT Award for Producer of the Year, enjoyed two massive hits with ‘Disconnect’ and ‘Baddadan’, and reinvented themselves yet again with new album/mixtape ‘2 Ruff, Vol 1’. There is no better choice to lead the 10th-anniversary charge and get the Rise crowds jumping.

Gorgon City take to the Rise turntables after 2024 highs including a Las Vegas residency at LIV and closing out the Yuma Stage at Coachella. They’ll be saving their best bass-heavy house as they come full circle from playing the first ever Rise Festival to landing for the Rise 10th celebrations.

Hannah Laing is back at Les 2 Alpes and ready to bang out the up-tempo grooves that have seen her hit massive crossover success this year. Anyone who saw Sammy Virji’s set at Rise last year will be booking a ticket ASAP as the fast-rising star returns again with his unique meld of house, garage, and bass. Irish star blk. also did the business last year and is back to step it up with his tough brand of techno.

Ewan McVicar is one of house music’s breakout stars of recent years, using his newfound profile to give back and build an underground scene in his home town of Ayr in Scotland. Now in demand all over the world, expect funked-up house that moves the dancefloor when he lands for his Rise debut.

He’s joined on the lineup by Bou, fresh from huge success alongside headliners Chase & Status on hit single ‘Baddadan’. Arielle Free can always be relied upon to get the ‘party on top of the world’ started. The BBC Radio 1 star brings her ‘Free Your Mind’ party to Rise with a special high altitude ‘Freeze Your Mind’ show. Fast-paced techno comes from Black Traffic, while house and garage bangers arrive courtesy of Badger. Bristol’s rising star [IVY] skilfully mixes up the d&b breaks and pumped up 4/4 beats, and the beautiful voice from drum & bass smash hit ‘Bittersweet Goodbye’, Issey Cross rounds off an epic Phase 1 artist lineup.

With today’s announcement, Rise Festival has delivered a statement of intent. 10 Years of Rise will be an action-packed festival in the snow, backed by a cutting-edge soundtrack, set against the stunning backdrop of the Alps – a week-long experience they’ll be talking about for the next 10 years.

Ticket options start at just £319 per person including a 6-day lift pass, available from www.rise-festival.com.
