NYC’s Dave Turk launches CLOOFORILLUR with nine-track VA ‘pre’, featuring material from the label boss plus David Berrie, Mink, and more. Bringing together a melting pot of global influences spanning house, tech house, minimal and beyond, the new label project will see Turk look to showcase local and global talent alongside his monthly event series FUNction, with the debut VA set to drop on 28th June 2024.

Italian-born, Brooklyn-raised DJ/producer Dave Turk has been a fixture in his city’s electronic landscape for over a decade, making regular appearances at iconic venues such as Cielo and Output, plus appearances for internationally renowned parties such as Paradise, Teksupport and more.

Building on a busy 2023 that welcomed music on Jamie Jones’ Paradise Music and Luuk van Dijk’s Dark Side Of The Sun, plus a first appearance on Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSiC and a return to Howl to open 2024, the New York-based talent now readies his next venture with the launch of his label, CLOOFORILLUR.

Launched to unite influences and inspiration from both local and international artists with a shared vision, the first release on the new imprint sees founder Turk curate a nine-track package to showcase the label’s vision and sound and preview what is to come next as he welcomes the likes of David BerrieMink, and more on 21st June 2024.

CLOOFORILLUR Records has an old-school vibe infused with modern flavors, with influences of European, Latin and global tastes and culture all boiled into a unique yet familiar New York sound. It will represent my passion for quality dance records that diggers hunt numerous hours for. The label will accompany CLOOFORILLUR.FUNction, a monthly event showcasing talent from across the pond as well as local artists aligned with the CLOOFORILLUR vision

Dave Turk

The label boss opens the show with the rolling ‘Actin’ Like a Baby’ before DNS’ ‘Say Less’ brings a trippy, loose and hypnotic trip to the mix. Lucas Aoki draws for deeper grooves and hazy pads with ‘Chicago’ while David Berrie strips things back for the sleek ‘Dreamland’. Turk unites with MINK and Chuwee for the bumping beats of the bubbly ‘Worcestershire’, while ‘Touche’ from Dopo is tough yet brings playful moments. Belgian talent RIZZ draws for a mix of driving bass and more delicate synths on ‘JFK Dub’, with Gian-Paul’s no-nonsense ‘I See You’ featuring the vocals of Dayna C. To close, Turk’s opening track is given the remix treatment by Zamoras, flipping the original by upping the tempo to serve up a final slice of peak-time goodness.

CLOOFORILLUR’s ‘pre’ VA drops on 28th June 2024 and we premiere ‘Dave Turk x Mink x Chuwee – Worcestershire’ on Data Transmission, check it out here and grab it on Beatport.
