Detroit’s Movement Festival Teases Massive 2025 Lineup

Detroit’s Movement Music Festival has unveiled a tantalizing teaser for its 2025 lineup, headlined by Techno pioneer Carl Cox, who will bring his celebrated Hybrid Live Set, and dance music sensation John Summit, set to close the festival weekend. Returning to Hart Plaza on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26, 2025, Movement promises a dynamic three days of boundary-pushing music in the birthplace of Techno.

Joining Cox and Summit are a mix of icons and newcomers, including Jamie xx, showcasing tracks from his acclaimed album In Waves, Sammy Virji, and Chase & Status, representing the Drum & Bass scene. Techno luminary Marcel Dettmann, UK house heavyweight Patrick Topping, Detroit legend DJ Minx, and Berlin’s rising star DJ Gigola round out the teaser alongside other standout acts like Ela Minus, Sama’ Abdulhadi, and Naples-based Anfisa Letyago.

Carl Cox shared his excitement: “Movement is a Techno institution in Detroit, so for me, it’s like reuniting with an old friend. I’m going to make up for the years I’ve missed with a show that’s going to send Detroit to another dimension!”

John Summit added: “I’m stoked to be playing Movement for the third time and now closing out the festival. It’s an honor to be part of such a legendary event.”

This initial announcement hints at Movement’s renowned programming, bridging underground talent with household names. More lineup announcements are expected soon.
