You never quite know what you’ll get from Swiss label HIVE Audio. The label has turned its hand to a variety of styles since its conception, but it’s rarely looked to electro-pop of the sort that Kaltehand/Natasha Waters make. Until now that is.
With the latter duo producing music that channels a sort of Bjork feistiness and matches it with a breezy ambiance, it was always the sort of fare that’s ripe for electronic manipulation. And so it is that Manuel Moreno and Ewan Pearson take the reins, with both producers expertly handling ‘Left‘ and ‘Pages respectively.
First up is Moreno’s remix of ‘Left‘. The Swiss native might be a relative newcomer in these circles, but his polished imagining of the track is as deft and carefully woven as they come, as he brings the listener on a voyage that’s laden with chiming bells, luscious chords and intricate melodies. Pearson’s remix on the other hand, is decidedly more up-tempo, as he calls on a dizzying amalgamation of sounds to cause the proverbial damage on his deliciously up-tempo interpretation of ‘Pages‘. A tale of two halves – each one with their own compelling story to tell.
