BC#9, also known as Jason Bakes, is a DJ and producer from Denver, Colorado, USA. A touring musician since 1986, he has built a reputation for blending organic and digital elements to create fresh, innovative sounds. He’s also the founder and host of ‘The United State of Drum+Bass’ podcast.

His debut Drum & Bass album, ‘Aquasonica’, featured standout tracks like ‘Going On’ and ‘Liquid Blue’, earning both critical and commercial success. He followed up with releases like ‘Jungle Mind,’ ‘Massive,’ and ‘Sound Boy Killa,’ solidifying his place in the jungle scene. Most recently, BC#9 collaborated with Bristol-based outfit Paper Dragon on ‘Unity Gain’. Remixes of the track by Dope Ammo and Kravitz, and a version featuring Jasmine Knight’s vocals are set to drop soon.

Having spent time in the UK during the ’90s, BC#9 witnessed the rise of Jungle, Drum & Bass and Hardcore firsthand, falling in love with the sound and culture. This deep connection led him to establish DnB United Records, a platform dedicated to celebrating the art, culture, and evolution of Drum & Bass and Jungle worldwide.

Founded in 2013 as a hub for artist interviews, album reviews, and guest mixes, DnB United Records has grown into a team of industry professionals supporting releases across the scene. Now also a record label, it’s home to BC#9, Invalid, and Lina Hrams, helping to push the genre forward on a global scale.

Today BC#9 joins our Renegade Riddims series with a mix curated for the dance floor so it’s the perfect start to your weekend! Featuring music from artists such as A.M.C, Culture Shock, Sota, Sub Focus, Kings Of The Rollers, MUZZ, Andy C, Pendulum, June Miller, Junk Mail and more!

Moondance and Dope Ammo would have been absolutely off their rocker to not continue with the success of their ‘Together’ projects. Spending weeks and weeks at the top of the download charts was one thing, but to put together such an authentic tribute to the past was no doubt the tip of the raving iceberg for everyone involved. So, they are back with ‘Together Reloaded Part 1’. The reloaded series aims for more of the same and promises to give you another trip down memory lane but with the bonus of upfront production and a quicker BPM so slotting into your next set won’t be an issue!

Dope Ammo, Ed Solo and Cat Mctigue take on ‘Make Me Feel’ in fine style, promoting singalong vibes throughout and the occasional whistle and horn if you’re in the mood. You all know this one from way back in the early 90’s, just this time around it’s got extra rave stabs and a growling bassline.

Next up ‘In The Moonlight’ from Sense and Dope Ammo featuring Cat Mctigue on vocals sticks with the hands-in-the-air vibe, ideal for the end-of-summer festival crew and the countless house parties that will follow.

The Godfather DJ Slipmatt links up with Dope Ammo for a four-to-the-floor monster that goes by the name of ‘The Song’. Early hardcore vibes a run with a monster kick drum, plenty of quick-fire riffs and cheeky drum fills. Essential if you’re a multi-genre DJ.

Wrapping up Part 1 of the project brings Dope Ammo, Ratpack and Jasmine Knight together in the studio alongside Akas with ‘Going Back’ the remix. The vocals alone carry this track into unknown territory, full of passion and expert delivery. It’s one hell of a dream team collaboration and worthy of being in everyone’s virtual crates for months to come.

Today we premiere Dope Ammo, Ed Solo ‘Make Me Feel’ ft. Cat Mctigue which you can check out below. ‘Together Reloaded Part 1’ drops today on all reputable platforms, so make you bag yourself a copy from here!

Finally, the long-awaited album from Moondance X Dope Ammo ‘Together’ is available across all platforms, bringing a whole host of scene legends and newcomers alike together which is uncanny considering that’s the title of the album!

A massive amount of bang up to date remixes feature here including Moondance anthems ‘Sound of Eden’, ‘Trip to the Moon’, ‘Don’t Go’ and ‘Searching for my Rizla’ just for starters.

It’s almost impossible to pick a selection of tracks to write about as the album contains over 40 future hits. What you will be pleased to hear though is that the reworks of the classics are true to form with no-nonsense and certainly no fillers. The original tunes come certified from not only Moondance & Dope Ammo but also Billy ‘Daniel’ Bunter, Ellis Dee and Kenny Ken to name but a few.

Stand out slammers include reboots of Top Buzz’s ‘Living in Darkness’, Jimmy J & Cru-l-t’s early happy hardcore anthem ‘Six Days’ and The Criminal Minds’ ‘Baptised By Dub’ which features the ‘king of the midas touch’ MC Spyda this time around.

Instant buy on site business!

Being an old skool head myself when I was approached to support this monumental release I felt I had no choice but to oblige, it was as if I’d been called to duty! I have loved every single second of music I’ve heard and trust me there’s a lot more to come, each and every one of the tracks is an absolute smash! We’ve done a couple of premieres from the samplers already so it seemed apt to close the deal with this…

Today we premiere Dope Ammo and Kleu‘s remix of RatPack ‘Searching For My Rizla’ which you can check out below. The track drops on Friday 27th May and the full release comes on 4th June. Make sure you bag yourself a copy from here!

When Moondance and Dope Ammo collaborate on an album project, they really don’t mess about. Part 3 of the album sampler hits hard with a roster of big names slinging out tough beats with that essential old school vibe. Whistles and horns inside the ride! Kicking off the release is Dope Ammo and Benny Page’s take on ‘I Need Your Loving’ which gets spun 360 degrees by Halflight who’s ramped-up energy levels to a new maximum, slotted in some choice samples and one hell of a destructive low end that drives the track through the ground. The track also features the vocal talents of the amazing Cat McTigue.

You know when Nicky Blackmarket links up with Top Buzz and Dope Ammo that magic is going to be created in the studio and that’s exactly what’s happened here with their version of the classic hardcore tune ‘Living in Darkness’. This time around Mad P has proved some choice lyrics, adding some trademark vibes to the mix alongside that legendary riff. Hold onto your hats when this drops!

RatPack need no introduction, neither does Pete Cannon, to be honest, so when you hear this effortless remix of ‘Searching for my Rizla’ you’re going to ask one question. “Why hasn’t this been done before?”. A certified authentic sound combined with Pete’s true to form production wizardry will have you drawing for this one time after time. Sliding into the outro of the EP with a dub version of ‘Living in Darkness’ for those who prefer to not mess around with vocals in the mix.

Following on from our premiere last week of Dope Ammo & Benny Page ‘I Need Your Loving’ (Halflight Remix) today we premiere another phenomenal remix from the album sampler…Top Buzz ‘Living In Darkness’ (Dope Ammo & Nicky Blackmarket Vocal Remix).

Check it out below! The track dropped yesterday a Beatport and Spotify exclusive with the full album dropping on Friday 1st April, grab it from here!

Moondance and Dope Ammo Records present ‘Together’ and believe it or not, this is just the album sampler and part 1 at that! Given the names involved, you’re only going to be getting top quality Jungle, Drum & Bass and Hardcore vibes from this package. So sit back, reminisce about the good old days and look to the future to create even more raving memories.

Opening up the release is Dope Ammo, DJ Rap and Jasmine Knight as they join forces for ‘Together’. A masterpiece of top quality live vocals fused with uptempo Drum & Bass, providing that all important lead to the EP and certainly one track to call upon to raise up the vibe in any dance. A true meeting of minds this one.

Benny Page graces the Shades of Rhythm classic ‘Sounds of Eden’, beefing up proceedings whilst keeping the vibe of the original intact. Early warehouse ravers, this one your time!

Acen and their legitimate hardcore anthem ‘Trip to the Moon’ gets another edit, this time around by Danny Byrd, previously responsible for the ‘Sweet Harmony’ relick and as expected, he’s done a fine job with this one too. Crashing Amen breaks and a ton of early 90’s vibes crash through your speakerbox.

Ray Keith flexes his production muscle with a brand new 2021 come 1994 banger in the form of ‘Back in the Day’ and of course this totally rewinds the time machine back to Roast, Jungle Fever and the like with typical Dread vibes.

Billy ‘Daniel’ Bunter and Liquid join the list of honours with ‘Dove Removal Machine’. Another upfront but in the style of kinda flex and boy does this work wonders. Soft piano and pads on the intro, chopped up breaks and of course a few pitches up vocal samples to boot. Back to ‘92 you say? Why bloody not.

Wrapping things up into small roach-like pieces sees MKII smash out a proper breakbeat affair of time-stretched beats for your ear accompanied by classic keys and vocal shots that will have you reaching for the sky no matter where you are. If you liked the original ‘Massive’ by Origin8a & Propa, you’re going to love this version!

This release is a true testament to Moondance’s legacy and beyond.

Today we premiere Dope Ammo, DJ Rap and Jasmine Knight ‘Together’ which you can checkout below. The album sampler droppped today (8th September 2021) and is available for you to grab from the purchase button beneath the Soundcloud player!
