UK underground star Denney launches his new label Totemic Records with a huge double A Side EP out this October.

Following a year which included releases on Crosstown Rebels, Club Bad, Saved Records, Nothing Else Matters, Nervous Records, Anjunadeep, Circus Recordings, Sublease Music and with upcoming back-to-back tours planned in Australia and the USA, Northern favourite Denney shows no signs of slowing down.

Denney launches Totemic with two bangers including ‘Repeat To Specify’ and ‘Searching’.

“It’s been a long time in the making but I’m proud to present my new label Totemic Records. I felt it was time to finally have an outlet for the great music I was being given by people and also for putting out my own releases how and when I want to. The definition of a Totem is an emblem of a family, clan, or tribe and that’s what I want to build around the label where absolutely everyone is welcome to join. The music will reflect this, Soulful, Tribal, Energetic and sometimes a little Darker and Trippier. This is an exciting moment for me and I can’t wait for people to hear what we have in store.”

The title track Repeat To Specify opens the release in a dominant fashion, with rolling tribal percussion and a hypnotic vocal that builds into a synth line which will sound huge on any soundsystem. The second track Searching has a bassline that sounds like it’s straight out of NYC in the 90s, matched with a diva vocal and punchy drums, it is sure to get any party started.

We asked Denney what it meant to him “I’m proud to present the first release on my new label “Totemic Records”, both tracks have been doing damage in my sets for a while and so happy to see them finally being released.  The Totem symbolises a family, clan or tribe and that’s what i hope to build for the artists releasing on the label. it’s been a long time coming and we have some incredible music on the way.”

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
