NUDE049: Fatima Hajji

Share

The established Madrid-based techno DJ/producer Fatima Hajji has recently delivered her stunning debut 2-track ‘Kua’ EP, featuring an excellent rework from the US-based Rinzen, on Sian’s revered Octopus Recording.

Fátima, Spanish by birth but with Arab origins is a confessed lover of nature and animals, as well as striking colours… and of course, she’s in steadfast love of a fireproof music genre like Techno. From its analogue and classical roots – she’s specialist in bringing up her deep African origins- through more contemporary sounds, including Techno-house. She stands for freshness, audacity and ruthless grooves, ideal medicine for having fun.

Despite this year’s unprecedented circumstances, the hard-working Spanish DJ, producer and label owner has remained incredibly focused on perfecting her craft and delivering some of the world’s finest techno music.

On the releases front, 2020 has been one of the best years for the talented Spaniard serving up essential offerings throughout the summer months on acclaimed techno imprints such as Odd Recordings, Autektone Records and Dolma Records before landing her debut EP release on Sian’s illustrious Octopus Recordings.

Today, she joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

New music, mostly unreleased, with several tracks I composed during the lockdown. Big energy to enjoy dancing to it… there are more than 10 words sorry 😀

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

‘Kua’. It’s the title track of my debut EP on Octopus Recordings and I’m really happy to be part of because it’s one of my favourite labels. I am so satisfied with the whole EP truly represents my sound at moment.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

I tried to mix it with all my positive energy to make the people dance and be happy.

Tell us about your next EP?

My next EPs are in Jan and Feb. I’ll have a track called ‘YKN’ on Set About with a remix from Metodi Hristov and 2 tracks coming out on IAMT (one of the Spartaque´s labels). One positive thing that has come out of lockdown was that I had time to improve myself in the studio, and now all this effort is being released on labels that I’m so proud to be part of.

What have you got coming up?

My first album. I want to release it on my label Silver M; I have no release date yet because I want to work on it without any disturbances. More than 5 tracks are ready at the moment, so I I’m close to having it ready.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

Stay healthy and strong, we will go back to Rave together again and the taste of it will be wonderful. I want to think that all of us will relish the life we used to have soon.
