UMEK’s record label 1605 presents an exhilarating techno single from rising star Karla Blum.
Karla Blum is a talented DJ and producer based in Berlin, and she has been taking the techno scene by storm following music on record labels ranging from Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds to Metodi Hristov’s Set About.
Her new single, Bad Bitch, is Karla Blum’s debut release on 1605, and she is a great fit for the record label, as her robust style has thick percussion and chunky synths. Bristling with energy and overflowing with excitement, this dark and rowdy track has a hands in the air vibe.
Some of the stars to have made waves via 1605 include the likes of Mha iri, Cosmic Boys, Space 92, and Teenage Mutants. Karla Blum is the latest artist to join the 1605 ranks, and Bad Bitch has all the hallmarks of a classic in the making.
“Bad Bitch” wastes no time launching into a fiery groove with throbbing rhythms and rattling percussion. Acid stabs burst forth to create dramatic tension, but it’s the vocal that make this track standout. With chanting hedonistic phrases, the lyrics make this a party starting anthem that will get people fired up.
The track has a brief moment of respite in the breakdown, where the kick drops out and the tension ramps up, before the drums crash back in alongside a menacing lead synth and some subtle euphoria.
