Moksha Recordings is pumped to release Kosheen‘s ‘Hide U [2024 Reload]’, featuring three fresh takes on the noughties club anthem. Dropping on July 23rd, 2024, and distributed via AWAL, this reimagining of ‘Hide U’ from the album ‘Resist’ brings back all the feels from its 2000 debut. Back then, it was a standout in Fabio‘s deep groove sets at Swerve, transformed into a Drum & Bass club anthem, and then an international hit, racking up awards along the way.

Sian Evans‘ soothing vocals on ‘Hide U’ are as spine-tingling as ever, sliding down your spine, making your hips sway, and sticking in your mind, all against those unique rolling beats and quirky, stuttering grooves. This classic tune is like a breath of fresh air, taking us back to their Drum & Bass roots but now with a 2024 twist, thanks to remixes by Mozey (23rd July), René LaVice (1st August), and The Outrage & Markee Ledge (10th August).

The Mozey mix kicks off with a nod to the original before introducing a break that leads into a staccato, metallic, and dissonant chorus. Sian’s vocals glide over the verses, highlighted by an arpeggiated interlude, and then the remix crashes into a raucous soundscape with her glorious ‘Hide U’ vocal taking centre stage.

René LaVice’s mix turns Sian’s haunting vocals into a menacing drop, channelling the raw emotions of the lyrics into an explosive bassline. The middle breakdown dives deeper into the emotional undercurrent, building into a crescendo of euphoric chaos as Sian’s lyric “Danger” loops over and over, culminating in another storm of satisfying bass.

The Outrage & Markee Ledge mix sticks with the original beats for the intro, adding a haunting glockenspiel refrain under the main vocal. A rolling break rhythm and deep bass then take over, driving the track forward under Sian’s beautiful melodic lines.

Check out our premiere of Mozey’s remix of Kosheen ‘Hide U’ below. This one drops today (Tuesday 23rd July), make sure you grab a copy from here!

Michael Hitches, known to many as Mozey since his early teens, has been producing drum and bass for just five short years. He developed a deep a love for the genre and scene after frequenting several of London’s darkest underground raves of the mid naughties.

Last year saw Mozey reach new levels with his debut release on the legendary Serial Killaz label, the hugely successful ‘Back to Funk’ EP. The title track rapidly became a standout rave anthem of 2019 and remains a permanent fixture on the playlist of many of the scene’s biggest acts.

The new decade is already shaping up to be a prolific one for Mozey, with another Serial Killaz EP already dropping and hitting the top of the charts. He also has further releases already scheduled, plus a collaboration showcasing the unmistakable vocal talents of DRS on his Space Cadet label.

With a string of collaborative projects already in the pipeline for the East London based producer 2020 looks like being the year that Mozey really stamps his authority on the drum and bass scene.

The 27th August will see another big and exciting release for Mozey on Serum‘s Souped Up Records with a mammoth jump up EP entitled ‘Big Night Out’. Consisting of 4 huge tracks that will undoubtedly make their way onto an array of playlists before the raves start up again. Once the raves make their long awaited return we can surely expect to hear some of them being played on huge systems and the energy from them will be insane!

Today we premiere ‘Bad People’ which is an absolute banger in my opinion! From the outset, it lures you in with its repetitive kick before bleeps kick in and build up to a crescendo and a filthy drop!

But don’t take my word for it, check out ‘Bad People’ below and make sure you grab the ‘Big Night Out’ EP from here
