Returning for a second year in the mystical location of Orrell Hill Wood, The One In The Woods festival promises another weekend jam-packed with Techno and Drum & Bass over 30th and 31st July. Situated just a 20-minute drive from the centre of Liverpool, the woodland venue offers a secluded haven for ravers to escape normality and enjoy the weekend in the best way (get tickets here).

The organisers of the event, The One, have extensive experience staging shows in Merseyside and are keen to give back, which is why festival-goers will be indulged with a salivating selection of local food vendors. This time around dance music fans will be treated to another spectacular selection of artists across four stages. With such an impressive roster Data Transmission has chosen five acts which you must see…

Nastia

The Ukrainian artist has become one of the biggest names to emerge from the European Techno scene. Her unique sound – which encapsulates minimal, dubby and atmospheric rhythms – has captivated audiences right around the globe including slots at major Techno havens like Crssd in San Diego and DC-10 in Ibiza.

Revered for her turntable exploits the Kyiv-born artist will take you through the most vibrant and sonically bliss journey of all the nuances throughout the Techno spectrum.

Parfait

The Parisian Naïla Guiget (Parfait) carved out a name for herself by mixing at alternative LGBT+ parties. Then she decided to set up her own night, Possession, which focused on removing all kinds of stigma and providing a space for everyone to come together to share their love for Techno.

The French Techno scene has grown rapidly since her project started to attract a wider following and as such Guiget has since gained international recognition, playing for the world-renowned Boiler Room.

If you find yourself watching this talented artist then make sure you brace yourself for a truly exhilarating journey as she draws for the most stark and industrial beats.

Matrix & Futurebound

This duo have been tearing up clubs and festivals around the world for many years with their pulsating mix of Drum & Bass beats. This show will be extra special for Futurebound as it is situated just outside the city of Liverpool which happens to be the birthplace of the Viper Recordings head honcho.

When you come to watch these two you know you’re going to be treated to the perfect concoction of earth-shattering beats and vibrant vocal records – they’ve had a string of Top 40 UK tracks such as ‘All I Know’, ‘Magnetic Eyes’ and ‘Control’.

Pendulum

The festival’s headliners are one of the biggest acts in electronic music. The Australian group are known for their rock-infused bass and have been an integral part of the global scene for many years. Whilst their live performances incorporate vocalist and founder, Rob Swire as well Gareth McGrillen, Paul Harding A.K.A. EL Hornet is the wizard that steps on the decks when they play a DJ set.

Last year they returned with new music after a ten-year hiatus and there are rumours the group could be planning a new album in the near future.

This act will undoubtedly blow your mind and promise to raise the energy levels right into the stratosphere with their hard-hitting array of bass.

Kings of the Rollers

Four years ago Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner decided to join forces leaving Drum & Bass fans salivating at the prospect of these heavyweights joining forces.

The trio have since gone on to play all around the world from Europe to Australia and has also been star attractions at the biggest festivals in the UK, including Boomtown, Creamfields and Detonate to name a few.

When you go to see this collective you know you’re going to be in for a real treat as each member is insanely gifted on a pair of CDJs, particularly Voltage, who is an expert at whipping crowds into a frenzy with his mesmerising blends.
