Renegade Riddims: Harriet Jaxxon

This week we are really happy to have up and comer Harriet Jaxxon join our Renegade Riddims series.

With her feet firmly anchored in the roots of jungle and drum and bass and her eyes transfixed on the future, Harriet is one of the most exciting, unique and diverse DJs to emerge in the UK dnb scene in recent years.

Brought up on records by pioneering DJs such as Roni Size and DJ Ron by her jungle devotee father, she is a self-proclaimed music nerd who’s driven by joining the dots. Since her first ever drum & bass rave and handing out flyers, sneaking into venues underage, to studying music technology and being a resident touring DJ for Ministry Of Sound she knew this was the path for her. These experiences have allowed her to hone her skills, ensuring technical precision and given her an insane ability to read any crowd and have solidified her rising drum & bass star status.

Harriet’s skill at selecting tracks, for someone so young is extraordinary, to say the least, mixing anything from old school hip-hop to foundation jungle via classic UK garage, she has wisdom beyond her years. She has even been known to chop and double drop house music! Her versatility knows no bounds! The way she can blend tracks together is truly magical and she is really exciting to watch. You know you’re gonna go on a journey but have no idea where you’re gonna go or how you’re gonna get there, you just know you’re gonna enjoy the ride!
