Sound of Fractures has unveiled Network Archives 001: A Directory of Inspiration, a 190-page digital zine that dives into the processes, challenges, and breakthroughs of 29 visionary artists. Created in collaboration with Metalabel, this release serves as a resource for creators, educators, and thinkers exploring new models of creativity within music and beyond.

Curated by Jamie Reddington (aka Sound of Fractures) and executive produced by technologist and music patron C.Y. Lee, the zine offers in-depth project breakdowns and reflections. Contributors, including VÉRITÉ, Black Dave MK2, Songcamp, and LATASHÁ, share essays and creative experiments that highlight the evolving landscape of independent artistry.

Artists featured include: Black Dave MK2, Cam Murdoch, C.Y. Lee, dav, Dot, Dutchyyy, Emma Miller, Forrest Mortifee, LATASHÁ, Maarten Walraven, MacEagon Voyce, Songcamp, Mavi Taylor, MdCL, Nick Smith, Pete Rango, Rae Isla, Sound of Fractures, Supersigil, Talk Time, The Park, TK, VÉRITÉ, Vivid Fever Dreams, WavWRLD, WKSHP, Xcelencia, Yuri Rybak

“This is more than a collection of creative work,” says Reddington. “It’s a record of a moment in time when creators are connecting through shared experiences, experimentation, and a desire to push boundaries in search of answers, even when the questions themselves remain unknown.”

The project also reflects a unique approach to funding and collaboration. C.Y. Lee, who has spent decades in product design and music technology, has championed the project with a patronage model, funding works that defy traditional music funding structures.

“I’m proud to be the executive producer on this,” says Lee. “I’m funding it because I believe it needs to exist, not because I expect a financial back end. This serves as a real-time record of the formation of new culture on new mediums, created by those defining it on their own terms.”

Positioned at the intersection of music, technology, and education, Network Archives 001 joins the ranks of culturally significant projects on Metalabel, such as Brian Eno’s Hard Art Collective. It amplifies the voices of creators actively shaping the independent music economy and serves as a resource for those navigating the ever-changing creative landscape.

Available now, Network Archives 001: A Directory of Inspiration is a must-read for creators and thinkers seeking insight, inspiration, and a deeper connection to the global community of makers.

Fankee, the world’s first community-driven music label, is taking the music world by storm. Launched this October by Italian entrepreneurs Giacomo Pellegrini and Dario Pozzi, Fankee is redefining what it means to be a music fan.

Forget just listening – with Fankee, fans become co-owners, investors, and promoters of the music they love. Imagine turning your passion into an asset and being part of a song’s success from the ground up.

This isn’t just about streaming or sharing on socials. Fankee’s fans have skin in the game – earning royalties and influencing which tracks get that magic push into the spotlight. And it’s working.

During its soft launch, Fankee’s first 15-track contest saw songs hit 350,000 streams and rack up 30 million social media interactions. In a second contest, 32 tracks pulled in 500,000 streams in just three weeks!

“Who rules social media? The community,” says Pellegrini.

“Fankee lets fans turn that power into ownership. They’re not just making hits; they’re part of them.”

With roots in EDM, co-founder Pozzi adds, “Fankee gives every fan the chance to help transform a track into a hit they can actually own.”

This is the future of music – a collaborative space where artists and fans build each track’s success together. Think of it as the Y Combinator for music, where the next big act gets a real chance, backed by fans who believe in their sound.

Audius, the largest decentralized music community, is transforming how artists monetize their music by expanding its game-changing marketplace. Now, artists worldwide can set their own pricing, control how they distribute their music, and receive direct payments from fans—all within the Audius platform.

Fans can easily support their favorite artists by using their credit cards to make payments in USDC, which artists and rights holders can convert into any currency of their choice. This feature, previously available to select artists, is now rolling out globally, giving thousands of artists new revenue streams and creative ways to engage with fans.

For the first time, 10% of every payment will go toward the Audius community treasury, with funds allocated through on-chain governance. A proposal is pending to finalize this change, further empowering the Audius community to shape the platform’s future.

“It’s amazing to see how artists have leveraged our music marketplace to not only engage with their fans but create entirely new revenue streams,” said Roneil Rumburg,

Co-Founder and CEO of Audius. “From selling downloads to launching creative contests, artists are using the marketplace in ways we never imagined.”

Artists like Kato On The Track and MadeinTYO have already found success through Audius. Kato generated revenue through download sales, while MadeinTYO sold beats and invited fans to create songs using his stems, ultimately flying a contest winner to Tokyo for a unique collaboration.

With partnerships with major players like DistroKid, EMPIRE, Nettwerk Music, and licensing deals with Kobalt, Audius continues to build on its mission to support independent artists and labels. Audius’ recent deals with ASCAP, BMI, and other performing rights organizations further establish it as a key player in the global music landscape.

Splice announced today that subscribers can now use Splice’s AI-powered Create inspiration engine to match compatible sounds from the company’s massive library starting with their own original loop.  A solution for endless hours of sample sleuthing – subscribers can now use their own sonic idea as a starting point for music creation within the Splice Library.

The feature is launched in partnership with platinum-selling record producer, Zaytoven (Usher, Gucci Mane, Future, Jack Harlow, The Weeknd).

It opened my mind up,” he says. “It helps me spark ideas. I make so many beats. A lot of times I can make them start sounding alike because I make so many beats. This helps to expand and think outside of what I would’ve done normally.

This new feature employs Splice’s AI-powered Create engine to compose a stack of compatible sounds around the user’s sample in seconds, enabling them to explore limitless variations of instrument and melodic combinations.

As always, the Splice-provided sounds are human-created, and the suggested stems easily export to most popular DAWs. This latest feature allows creators to extend their work on Splice while leading with the most essential part of their creative process: their unique ideas.

Splice AI delivers human-made sounds that are compatible with the creator’s original idea, which remains at the center of the creative process,” said Kakul Srivastava, CEO of Splice. “With this tool creators can start with their own sound, select a genre, and Splice’s AI will surface sounds that fit perfectly in seconds. This sets the stage for the next generation of technology advances at Splice, putting powerful tools directly into our users’ existing workflow.”

Following the recent update to Splice mobile and the introduction of features like Bridge to the desktop app, User Audio “Create with your own Loop” is the next step in Splice’s mission to build features that increase creativity, enhance workflow, and boost efficiency.

Create With Your Own Loop brings Splice’s unparalleled library of human-made samples and sounds featuring more than 300 instruments, representing over 130 unique genres of music, right into the user’s workflow, helping to jumpstart creative and artist breakthroughs around the creator’s initial sonic idea.

Concert promoter and platform, Gotobeat, secures investment to redefine the live music ecosystem using AI and Data.

Gotobeat describes itself as the “next-generation concert promoter” and uses proprietary technology to predict the demand of emerging artists, putting them in the right venue at the right time to deliver sold-out shows. As well as promoting shows in-house, Gotobeat partners up with existing concert promoters to power their events, manage and promote them on their behalf.

GOTOBEAT

Currently focusing on concerts ranging from 100 to 1,500 capacity venues, Gotobeat has sold over 30,000 tickets in 2023 for events organized through its platform in London and more recently has worked with artists such as Marina Satti (Greece representative at Eurovision 2024), Ladaniva, Hannah Grace, Now Ex, expanding outside of the capital.

“We are excited to enter this new phase of growth and bring our unique approach to more and more venues and artists, developing and empowering the next generation of global superstars. We are a concert promoter from the outside, but inside we are embracing technology to deliver more value to artists and venues and drastically increase the chances of selling out shows”.

Max Busin, Founder of Gotobeat, says,

With only 41% of capacity filled per event, the live music industry in the UK is facing a growing challenge. Gotobeat wants to address this exact issue. Its centralised concert promotion platform allows Gotobeat to work faster than a traditional concert promoter, taking on more emerging artists and increasing the number of gigs organised per venue. AI and Data are used to recognise patterns, help curate the right lineup and sell more tickets, bringing digitalisation into the otherwise very traditional live music ecosystem.

“We are thrilled to be supporting Max Busin and Gotobeat as they address the overarching challenge of the live music industry, selling out shows. We are pleased to have led this pre-seed investment round, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey”.

After co-founding Blasting News and scaling it to over 100M users, Max Busin successfully went on to co-founding a hospitality business in Venice before launching Gotobeat in London. The round was led by Velocity Capital. Raj Saxena, CEO of Velocity Capital Advisors, comments,
