Groove Armada announce New Single and Forthcoming Album

Share

Groove Armada aka Tom Findlay and Andy Cato are undeniably one of the most influential forces in dance music. After hinting at new material over the past few weeks, the duo has shared the first new single ‘Get Out On The Dancefloor’.

This is also the lead single from a brand new album. It previews Groove Armada’s long-awaited new album, their first studio LP since 2010’s landmark ‘Black Light’. The track features Empire of the Sun and Pnau frontman Nick Littlemore. Nick’s stream-of-consciousness vocals on the track merge with Groove Armada’s slick grooves to create, unrivalled, infectious energy.

The duo had accumulated hundreds of extracts of Littlemore’s vocals and painstakingly edited them together into something fresh and vibrant. Cato recalls, “As I went through the recordings of Nick, I realised there were lots of cool phrases and great deliveries we could use. It took a very long time to find the right order for them, but once we had that line ‘Get out on the dancefloor, it felt vibey. Slotting the music underneath was the easy bit!”.

The video features cameo performances filmed by Groove Armada super fans in isolation from lockdown across the globe. They include US actress Rose McGowan, singer Sophie Ellis Bextor and UK drag star Davina De Campo. On top these, an army of TikTok’s biggest names.
